What on EARTH does my hair want from me?!?!

My hair is needing something from me but I'm not sure what. It feels both dry and oily at the ends. They are kinda rough. I wish I could explain. My curls are generally udnefined (but they start higher up now, yay!)

I think I need to DT the ends...

I've been CG for.... oh, IDk a month I think?

Any help would be greatly apreciated!

it sounds like a moisture issue to me. My ends get like that when my hair's dry, and the products I'm using just kind of sit on top of the dryness, looking like oily buildup.

I'd try a DT. If that doesn't help, you might need to clarify, and then DT again just to make sure everything's off your hair and you're getting the moisture down into the hair shaft.

Ditto. I'd low-poo with a coco-betaine or something equivalent (check here forAmphoteric surfactants), then do a moisturizing DT.

Um... the easiest moisturizing DT I know of is to add some olive oil to your regular conditioner and leave it on for awhile. I've never tried this myself, but others swear by it. I usually leave on Sally's Generic Conditioning Balm or KBB Luscious Locks when I want to DT, although they may be hard to come depending on where you live.

    Good luck!

I am watching this thread with interest because my hair has been doing the same dry + hard + oily thing every now and then for the past few weeks (maybe a seasonal winter thing?)

I notice this hard/dry feeling after a few days of water-washing so I wondered if it was mineral buildup from my shower water. It seems to go away the next time I co-wash my hair. But I don't like to co-wash it too much because that dries it out. I don't know if I'm on the right track but I have been replacing some of my water-washes with a heavier rinse-out conditioner in the shower. I also got a shower filter that filters out chlorine plus hard water minerals. time will tell if this works ...
