Something in my son's eye

My two-year-old looks like he has something in his eye. I gave him a few mixed nuts this morning, and it looks like a bit of brown skin from a nut. He doesn't act like it hurts or is bothering him, but I can see it sitting there on the white of his eye. Should I try to get it out, like running water in his eye? Or just wait for it to come out on its own?

If it isn't bothering him, I'd leave it alone. Chances are I'd probably traumatize DD more by trying to get out.

His tears will probably clear it and bring it to the corner of his eye while he sleeps. I'd check him after a nap and, if it's moved to the corner, I'd try to gently get it out with a moist q-tip. I wouldn't try while it's sitting on the white part.

I decided to wait, and it finally came out tonight. It was when he was crying as I left to teach my class this evening. Yeah, he gets riled up enough just when I wipe his face off after he eats, I didn't want to go poking around his eyes.
