Florida Curlies *new* meet up March 28th

To seperate out from our previous thread, I figured I would start a new one to see what the interest is in having another meet up for the Tampa Bay/St Pete (or anyone willing to travel to our area) curlies sometime in March. Should we meet again in Gulfport or does anyone have other suggestions?

Great idea ... that way, folks will know there is something new in the works.

How does March 14 or March 21 sound? And I'm throwing out the Pier at a meet place suggestion this time, if we want to stay in Pinellas.

I believe I am good either date. Are you talking about the St Pete Pier? That could be fun.

Yes ... I really like it there. I've eaten at Cha-Cha Coconut's (food was fair, but it was fun and the view is fabulous) and the Columbia (stellar food, but much more formal) .. there are a couple of other waterfront restaurants there as well. Mid-March won't be too cold and there shouldn't be any humidity to wreck our curls :)

March 21 might work better for me than the 14th. My dad's birthday is the 10th and we might possibly be doing some family stuff if my parents are in town.

The Pier or at least somewhere in St. Pete would be perfect. Shall we just set the date for the 21st?

Let's set it for then and see how it flies ...

Okay, March 21. First suggested venue: the Pier. Any other ideas?

Cool. I changed the title to reflect the date. I think the Pier sounds interesting. I haven't been there in many years.

Oh no. I just found out that I will be out of town that weekend. Can we look at another date? What about early April?

The food is okay, but nothing great at Cha-Cha Coconut's ... but you can't beat the view.

No, we'll be too busy checking out each other's hair ;)

C'mon, girls, we need more suggestions for the venue.

I feel the same way. If you wanted a beach bar on St. Pete Beach, I could make recommendations, but we haven't done much in St. Pete proper.:silent:

For Thai - Siam Garden on 9th St. No. (my fav)

For Mexican - Red Mesa on 4th St. No.

I wish I could join ya'll! My son is in a boot camp type program in Jasper and Saturday is my only visit day, so I won't even be back home in Spring Hill until 8pm. Someone do a toast for those of us who can't make it! :occasion5:

Since everyone I've talked to so far likes Thai, I'm going to stick a stake in the ground and suggest Siam Garden on March 28. Will that work?

I know nothing about Thai food but I would assume they have salads too, right? As long as there is something along those lines, I'm in.

I bet you are! I was wondering where you had disappeared to. What part of Indiana? I spent the last 12 years in the South Bend area and still have a daughter there.
