Pics of my hair, Which cut shall I get? (to suit my curls)?

I'm so undecided if I should cut my hair, which is bobbing between chin and shoulder length (so awkward). What do you think? (or will all be a disappointment and I should grow my hair out?)

I like short 1. It looks more curly and full.
Hair almost to waist. Brown with light brown highlights. 3b spiral curls. I love curly hair.

I like the first photo (I think med1) and I also like the last photo (short1). They both have a definite "style" or shape to them :)

GL - your curls are great so I'm sure it'll look awesome!

While your hair could very well look fantastic in any one of those cuts, I don't think it will look anything like any of the pictures. All the pictures you picked are really voluminous, bouncy looks. And your hair seems to be more flat. Honestly, I think you'll be disappointed if you try to get your hair to look like any of the pics. I think you should find some more pics that have flatter curls.

Oh, and I don't want it to sound like flat is a bad thing. I'd kill for my hair to be flatter! But alas, it is not the case, so I don't go to the hairstylist with pictures of flat hair hoping for a miracle.

Not to be a party pooper but I am a 3A and I have taken the same pictures to the stylist for a cut. The unfortunately thing is my hair has never looked like those pictures when it was all said and done with. The cut was what I asked for but it didn't make my hair look very good. My hair is either a huge triangle because I have trouble with volume at the roots or my curls go crazy and I have to actually do something to them like blowdry, curling iron, rollers at the roots, etc. I usually find myself being upset for ever having cut my hair and pull it up everyday. I often find it is more work than longer hair.

I tend to have the same problem when I have taken pictures to stylists. My last disaster was in 1999 when I took a picture of Meg Ryan's hair (from City of Angels) to my stylist. It turned out nothing like the picture...I later found out the Meg Ryan's hair was enhanced with a perm for that cut/style. It took me so long to manage and style my hair when it was this short...thank god it didn't take long to grow out. I haven't gone short again, nor have I walked into a salon with a professional or celeb picture.

I pretty much assume that any professional photo or celeb hair cut/style has been stylized to death and is therefore not necessarily realistic for me.

If I comment to my stylist that I like a hair style in a photo, he usually asks me what I like about it and it gives him a really good idea of what I am looking for in a hair style.
    Long, blonde, 3a/mostly b hair.

other: I actually think your curls will be tighter than the pics, so they will look different. But you could take in the pics for reference as to style and length. Do your curls get tighter or looser when they are shorter?

I'm thinking your curls will look more like this, judging by your pictures (curl-wise):
SF Bay Area, CA * "The Angel-Goddess-Guru of Haircoloring" :D
3b/c/a mix. medium texture, low porosity

I like short 3. You have lovely hair, BTW.
