Ok.. my hair is unbareable... Its horrible I did the chemical chi straightnening 2 times, last time I did it was in June of 08 and I told myself I WILL NEVER do it again, let my curly hair grow back and chop off the chemical part when its long enough... well... my hair is horrible.. I have bad split ends.. I cut about 7inches of my hair in Nov. 08 and I cant handle it.. Its shoulder lenght and Im damaging it evenn more by having to flat iron it because the curls are growing from the top and I look pretty bad with out flat ironing it. I use a heat protector before flat ironing. I condition my hair, but it doesnt matter!

It gets damaged more because Im flat ironing it..I use GHD and also CHI flat iron. but without flat ironing I look like a lion and cant go out in public. I tried scrunching the straight chemical part to match the top (3inches of curls that has grown in) with gel, mousse, hair spray.. YOU NAME IT.. but it wont work! it looks like a mess... help!!! my other option is shaving bald and heck no! and im so tired of my hair... it will take 1-2years for it to grow long enough..

Have you tried maybe using rollers or a curling iron on the straight hair? Seeing as you're going to eventually cut that off anyway, it'd make more sense to do something to that hair and not the natural growing that you want to keep protected.
Wurly, fine, thin, moderately to heavily porous. Mod CG.

trust me I tried that the straight chemical part wont curl! its impossible... yesterday I scrunched it and put gel and hairspray and mouse.. i had to tie it and have only the top curly because the bottom was flat straight.

I am in the same boat as you. My hair looks so bad. I've always hated my curly hair. Now, I want it back. I will never chemically straighten it again. My husband tells me to shave my head, I'm tempted but can't. My curls are not the same and the front of hair is a frizzy mess. It won't curl at all. Flat irons and curling irons just makes it dry out and look worse. HELP!!!!!
