What exactly is bunning?

I would like to try bunning when my hair gets a bit longer, so then i can grow it out more. I have heard many variations of bunning and im not sure which is the real method. Does anyone know how to do bunning? If so,then is bunning just basically putting your hair into a bun? Do i use hair sticks? If you could just enlighten me on the subject a bit more please.(i have never put my hair into a bun in my life, so if you know how please give me some tips and advice.) thanks.

It's wearing your hair in a bun to grow out. It helps keep your edges from getting rub or friction from breaking the rest of your hair. Up = no touching or messing up. Some people put extra oil or conditioners in their hair and this helps it from drying out.

You can do buns with sticks, scrunches, ouchless pontail holders, and bobbypins. I am not good at describing how to bun but I pull all my hair up like I'm going to do a ponytail but wrap it around instead and secure the ends with bobby pins.
