Hair Fears

ResRes Posts: 2,911Registered Users
Just for fun.

Do you have any fears about your hair?

I have a couple, especially when it comes to product.

I'm afraid that one day I'll find an awesome product and then it's discontinued.

I'm afraid to buy really expensive products (like [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Kinky-Curly-Curling-Custard-p-778.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=kinkycurly-curling-custard]KCCC[/buylink] or anything from the curlmart really) and then have it not work.
3A/B - low-normal porosity - med to coarse texture

Shampoo - GTTTT
Co-Wash - As I Am Coconut Cowash
RO - GVP Cond. Balm, Tresemme Naturals, Yes to Carrots Nourishing, AO Honeysuckle Rose
LI - Hollywood Beauty Olive Cream Headdress
DT - Hollywood Beauty Olive Cholestrol, SM Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment
Stylers - BRHG (old formula is my HG, but the new one has silicones)

Trying out - MGA Sculpting Gel, LA Sports Gel, Got2b Spiked Gel, Got2b Glued

I'm afraid that I'll get too frisky with some product and end up damaging my hair in some way... especially if I damage the color. :sad2:

I don't have any fears...just frustration! I get frustrated when I wait to the last minute to style my hair, or I have to use a product more than twice to discover how to use it properly for my hair type.

By the way, the discontinuation of one of my favorite products has occurred with me-Garnier Fructis Style Soft Curl Cream.

Me too! I know it's a ways off until I'll be thinking about that, but still.

I'm scared that all of my products will stop working at the exact same time. Very irrational, but it's there.

My main hair "fear" is thinning/loss. Which is ironic, seeing as my entire life I wished I had less/thinner hair. Then last year I had Alopecia - can you say wake up call?

Yeah, I also fear it falling out. What would I do with my free time????????

I also still have my original color, so my "fear" of greying isn't fear, exactly -- I know it's inevitable. I guess I fear that, when I start coloring it, my texture and overall condition will go straight to Hell.

    Wurly and proud!

I think my biggest fear is becoming allergic to the products that work for me. Lately, I've been developing more and more allergies (one of which I believe is to jojoba oil...do you KNOW how many products have jojoba oil?!) and I'm terrified that it's going to happen with my favorite stylers. I'm also afraid of developing an allergy to henna. THAT would suck, as pulling the henna out of my hair would cause sooooo much damage and I love the red! And growing it out would be tortuous. My natural hair color and the henna don't exactly blend well.

Another is having to go through some medical treatment and losing my hair, only to have it grow back straight.

Short term fear is having a bad hair day when I really need it to be an awsome hair day.
Long term fear is that my curl pattern will change as my grey hair comes in, it is sooo cranky.:geek:

    Shamoo once a week

My biggest fear is that all my ends will snap off and my hair won't grow long.

Fears abound! My primary one is that now that my hair finally looks good, I am 50 and so maybe I'll have to cut it soon because I will become the old lady who insists on keeping her hair loose and curly because she thinks it looks good when really it looks ridiculous. (I fear not being able to reconcile good sense with good hair.)

Jillipoo, you CANNOT be 50! You look at LEAST ten years younger; I assumed you were in your late 30s from pictures.

I'm afraid that the moment I find my HG routine my hair will suddenly backfire on me and decide it hates everything and just turn in into a huge, frizzy poof.

I'm afraid I'll accidentally use a product meant for brown hair and my hair will stop being red.

And I'm scared I'll develop female baldness (I have no basis for this fear).

I'm afraid that there will be more grey than dark brown. 20% grey now.
Yes, the grey has a 100% different texture than my other hair, no, coloring/glazing does not damage curl pattern, and yes it restores the pattern to the grey, actually.
Wavy, curly on the ends, 2C.
Coarse to medium textured, porous, dry, and lots of it.
    Shampoo--HSH Pumpkin, Abba Pure Moisture

    Suave Max Hold, Alagio Curl-Gel

I'm afraid hormonal changes will mess up the curl pattern if I ever get pregnant and have kids. Also, as much as super thick hair can be a pain sometimes, I'm afraid it'll thin out drastically as I get older - I have no basis for this fear, really, but it would suck.
