Mehru lip dyes

I also posted this on the Non-hair board, hoping more folks would see it.

Has anyone tried Mehru lip dyes? I came across them while doing a google search about henna. The site says they can be used to stain lips for up to 24 hours, and can also be used to line eyes, dye nails, etc.

Anybody have experience with them?

I've never used this, but it sounds interesting. I'm a lipstick freak. No lip gloss for me, I want long lasting real lip color. I'm intrigued.

For me, they didn't work at all. I'm better off just using a lip pencil. I was disappointed because I like the idea of the product.

RealRed, can you say a little more? Did they not stain sufficiently to give color? Did the color not last on your lips?

They really didn't do much at all. It was like using a tint of color & it wore off immediately. I'm pale so color normally shows up well on me. But this was nothing special. Of course everyone is different & you may find you like it, but I would try to get a sample or swap rather than waste the money. With shipping costs it was ridiculous to get a product that doesn't work.

I'm a lipstick freak too, and I feel like I died and went to heaven. I have tried just about every long-lasting lipstick there is and they usually leave that ugly line that separates the lip from the inner lip, or they are so drying. These lip dyes definitely do not last 24 hours, unless you never eat or drink anything, but they do last a long, long time. The color fades some if you eat anything oily, but you are still left with a strong stain anyway. They are not drying at all, but since I am used to the feel of lipstick, I add a clear lip balm and it feels great! When I drink, there is no unsightly lipstick mark on the glass. People are amazed. I don't like the natural color of my lips (kind of a dull gray/brown!) so before I was always re-applying my lipstick. Now, I can't believe I eat a whole meal, have cocktails and no longer worry about my lipstick being worn off. Mixing and matching the colors adds to the number of shades you can end up with. If you apply a light coat, it's one color; and if you apply several layers, you'll get a darker shade. Plus, they are natural and herbal, which I'm really into. I heard they are coming out with new, lighter colors. I can't wait. I got mine at http://www.earthhenna.com.
