Demi-Permanent Hair Color

I wanted to use a demi-permanent dye to brighten my color up a bit. Is demi more or less damaging then semi permanant??
I heard it's not as damaging, but it last longer.
Also, will this take the curl out my hair?? My hair is also kind of damaged.
Thank You :):)

I'm not sure which is less damaging, but I know that Color by Robert Craig is! :D You could use of one his Colors to brighten your hair gently. Just choose a shade 2-3 times lighter than your hair because they go darker. Something 3-4 shades lighter would brighten and add tone, without getting dark at all. You could add a red or gold tone too. They will not lift color, so no major fading or stripe from outgrowth either.

How do you remove demi permanent color safely??? Can it be done without frying my hair?? I've had it colored but way too dark and not at all what I asked for as it's all nearly black with no highlight or warmth at all. Gross. I shampood twice as soon as I got home, but there were many errors made in the salon that day, and I want this to fade ASAP. Has anyone tried the L'Oreal color remover? What about a blond highlighting shampoo? Maybe I should just use dish detergent! It is very unnatural and I hate it. Needless to say, not going back to that shop and no more coloring whatsoever!

georgiecurl - You may be able to use ColorFix. I would contact Karin at RC's site and tell her the brand and type of color you used, she will know if the ColorFix will remove it. http://www.robertcraig.com/php/index.php?location=askkarin

Thanks. I'll check into that, but I'll have to call the salon that did my hair to ask what they used. It wasn't a home dye job.

I just tried ColorFix--it didn't solve my problem, but it does work--and will probably work well for you on such fresh color. You'll be able to get it out quickly and with minimum damage. (It's drying--try to shut your hair shaft back closed with ACV afterwards and condition the heck out of it, and it will be fine.) You can get it at Sally's.

It works on any oxidative permanent dye.

    Good luck!!!

Oh, sorry...just realized you used a demi...not a permanent. STILL might work, though, since demi's do deposit color inside the hair shaft as well as over it. Especially since you just had it done. It couldn't hurt to try it, and it won't harm your hair as much as dish detergent....

    georgiecurl,
i would call the salon and get them to fix it for you rather than spending money trying to fix it yourself.
i recently had a similar experience with my hair colour, but i called the salon that evening and my stylist fixed it that night.
if they didn't do what you asked, then you have every right to complain and they should fix it free of charge. i've had a couple of colouring mishaps at various salons and they have always been happy to fix things up.
