Now why is it that I like pretty much all the redhead colors, even though I'm a brunette?

I have to say, I haven't been overly excited about the latest MAC collections. I went in to back-to-mac a few things (and got 2 free eyeshadows -woohoo!) and saw the B.B.R. collection and it was all a bit blah for me. I feel like a couple years ago, their collections were far more inspiring...
    Currently loving:

    Ok, I have to ask...

how do you guys AFFORD this stuff?! I'm forever on the MAC website, admiring from afar or drooling over the counters at makeup stores that happen to sell it but I just CANNOT consider spending $30 on an eyeshadow pot (slightly exagerated, possibly, but oy)

lol, I KNOW it'll last forever and it's awesome and everything but oy. I'm just really envious that you guys can do it :/ I need "MAC for broke peeps"
CG/Mod CG (soap bars) since 8/12/08
CO wash/Cond: Kathymack & Flowermoon Castille soap bars, V05 Chamomile Tea, Suave Ocean Breeze, Biolage Conditioning Balm
Styling loves: DIFFUSING! CK, KCNT, KCCC, FOTE (on dry hair only), Re:coil, Proclaim gel
Not sure about: Boots, Tweek, KBB Milk, DMHJ
HATE: plopping, FOTE on wet hair, BRHG

I buy something from them maybe 3 times a year. There's a couple of their items I need to have, but like you said, they last forever. I've had my eyeliner for 2 years now and used probably half of it. I'm not rich, but I can afford a $15 eyeliner every 4 years. ;) My other "necessity" is Nymphette lipglass which lasts me 6 months to a year. Not as good, but still doable. And then I'll get something from the limited collection if it REALLY strikes my fancy.

i don't spend as much at MAC as some people of my acquaintance - there are some women who are members at Specktra and i just go

    at them!

i try to stick to basics as much as possible and will only buy LE if i completely LOVE it and it isn't close in colour to anything i already have.

and compared to other high-end lines, MAC isn't that expensive at all. $17 Cdn for an eyeshadow is fine by me. Givenchy is $27 Cdn and Laura Mercier is $26.

lol, ok, those comparisons make me feel better.

I think it's just the thought of what I'd have to spend to 'convert' to MAC at the beginning. The upkeep wouldn't be bad, but the new products at first would just seem overwhelming. Maybe if I go slowly, it won't shock my debit card into a meltdown :P

OMG! Hello Kitty and MAC...two of my favorite things, together at last. I can't wait.

In terms of pricing, I think everybody has something they will spend a little more on. I love makeup, and I think MAC is a great value for what you're getting.

One of my yt subscriptions just did a look featured by the collection and she simultaneously reviews it.

I've never even tried anything MAC lol, but the video title was stuck in my head since it was on my youtube homepage for a bit.

I went to the launch of Hello Kitty last night in Chicago, and man was it NUTS! I never got to the spot where the collection was. I guess it was a good thing though, because I decided after looking at pics online for so long, I really didn't want any of it.

I did get a few more things from the permanent line though. I wish I had a Pro Card.....

I spent $80 on the 2 quads today... I originally had asked for the Lucky Tom quad and I checked the quad when I got to the car and saw that it was Too Dolly. So I went back in... and bought the other. I LOVE both, though. :D

I think I'll be going back for the lip stuff though. Too pretty. :flower:
