I haven't read them yet but thanks for the heads-up about them. I've been reading Jennifer Rardin's Jaz Parks series (YAY, book 5 is due out next month), and Julie Kenner's Demon-Hunting Soccer Mom series, so the Vampire Huntress series looks like it's right up my dark alley. ;)

YES...a friend of mine recommended her to me and I must say i'm totally impressed. She manages to introduce a lot of new elements into the old "vampire hunter" mythology....but in a way that totally makes sense...espically if you are a person that's semi knowledgeable about religion...and not just chirstianity. She infuses all major religions and some ancestial stuff into her books.

There are 12 books in the series, 11 that are already published....and I think book 12 is due on the shelves soon...if it's not already out.

Ok...someone else was telling me that the demon hunting soccor mom series was good...i'm gonna have to chek it out.

You should also check out Patricia Briggs' "Mercy Thompson series" too..I just purchased the first 3 books in that series and I plan to start reading those next.

I really like the "Mercy" series, but I'm addicted hard-core to Laurell K Hamilton's Anita Blake series.

BTW...the reviews for this series says that fans of Anita Blake, Blade, and Buffy will love this one to!

i just finished book 4 in the Vampire Huntress series, already started on book 5, and have book 6 sitting at home waiting on me too. I just got a bday coupon from borders for 30% off and a seperate 30% coupon and you guessed, I'm going to purchase books 7 and 8...lol.

    *takes notes on book names*

Thanks for this thread! I love sci-fi books, especially those about vamps. Furthermore, I love series, especially those that have several out already so I don't have to wait FOREVER for the next book! LOL

I was reading the Dresden Files and i'm waiting for his new book as we speak.

I'm currently reading Twilight. I couldn't help it, there was so much hype!

I enjoyed the Twilight series, but did find it to be geared towards a younger reader than Laurell K Hamilton or Patricia Briggs.

I love the Dresden files! I was so bummed when they cancelled the sci-fi series.

I'm going to have to check out Bank's series soon, can always have another series. :D

btw, Laurell K Hamilton also has a series "Merry Gentry" mainly based on fey and supernatural which is really good too :)

I read the first book and it didn't really resonate with me for some reason. I don't really know why...they're well-written but I didn't really get engrossed.

Right now I'm reading Kim Harrison's Rachel Morgan series and liking those a lot. Rachel is a combo of Anita Blake and Stephanie Plum.

Ok I was in borders last night and I see that L.A. Banks has another series that's on book two. Didn't catch the name of the books...but its about werewolves (COOL!!!)

Oh and speaking of werewolves Patricia Briggs had a book out called Cry Wolf...was that part of a series or a stand alone book? I really enjoyed it and I wish it were a series.

I have that one too :). Found this on Barnes & Noble for a description: Now Briggs begins an extraordinary new series set in Mercy Thompson's world-but with rules of its own.

    I'm such a sci-fi/fantasy addict, lol...I love Kim Harrison's writings too!

awwww...yeah Minion (the first book) was kinda slow, because I think it had to intorduce the reader to a lot of important details that you need inorder to follow the rest of the series. But the second book TOOK off!! I'm totally hooked (i feel like a junkie...lol).

When I'm home in DC, my job is usually really hectic and stressful. I'm sooo glad I took this temp. assignment here in TX. The hours are long, but no where near the stress level, and when I walk out the door at 7pm, I can turn it off and I actually have time to read. I've barely even turned the TV on since I've been here and I've been reading like a mad woman (at least 2 books a week)! I'm thinking about canceling my cable when I get home (ok maybe I'm pushing it...lol).

back on topic...try the second book...I think you will like it. The action picks up a lot.

I'll have to give it a try. I really did like the premise.

Ok....Vampire Huntress Series fans.....Book 12 (the final book....:( ) hits shelves TODAY! I pre-ordered it this weekend so I'm hoping that I'll have my copy in a few days to start reading.

I just got around to reading the Mercy Thomposon series, and its REALLY good!!! I tore through the first 2 books and I'm starting book 3. Are there only 3 books in this series?
