Does anyone use/like cetaphil?

I bought the cleanser for normal to oily skin because from what I heard it was supposed to be gentle and non drying.

I found it to be more drying than the current cleanser I'm using now and the fragrance is terrible!

    cetaphil faithful here.

I use the gentle skin blue label cleanser on my face every morning and depending on the weather and condition of my skin, I use the face SPF 15 moisturizer (in a pump). I use the moisturizer when it is humid/foggy/rainy outside and when my skin doesn't need too much moisture. When it is dry out and I need extra moisture, I use another brand.

Price and availablity is good, and my dermatologist recommends cetaphil brand for my face ever since my outbreak of adult acne. It has very little shine, light, and is still very effective in moisturizing my skin, which you can imagine is dry due to my acne meds.

The cleanser (blue) and the moisturizer are frag. free.

I STRESS THE BLUE LABEL... :D

Don't expect this cleanser to lather up. It doesn't, but don't let that fool you b/c it certainly cleans the skin. It is the lathering agents in soaps, cleaners, and shampoos that cause dryness.

try the extra gentle stuff like ava recommended- I LOVE it, its the only cleanser that has is not harsh, drying, etc and makes my skin feel great :) It really does calm acne too.

So you guys would definitely recommend the gentle kind over the cetaphil for normal to oily skin?

I've used both the regular and the oily version on and off for years. The oily one works best for me in the summer. I am also a HUGE fan of the Basis skin bar for sensitive skin - really awesome.

I use a generic brand of Cetaphil (Rite Aid was out of Cetaphil, and the doctor recommended I buy it for a rash I had). They only had one formula in the generic - I didn't know Cetaphil had different kinds. I checked online, and this has the same basic ingredients as Cetaphil. It works fine for me. It didn't irritate my rash, and I've been using it since (about 2 years) because it was buy 1 get 1 free (big bottles). I went back to using Noxema at night because it makes my face feel cleaner (I don't think Cetaphil removes makeup as well). I'll go back to using Noxema day and night after the Cetaphil is gone just because it's always worked great for me and is cheaper.

Not a fan. It makes me breakout. [But everything except the purest of products makes me breakout.]

I have to say I like the cleanser and moisturizer. I use the blue lable one as well. My new dermatologist has me use it after disasterous effects of something my old one had me using. I actually use the bar type in the shower as well. I tend to just use that moisturizer on my face though and sesame oil on my skin.

Neither the gentle or oily version worked for me. The gentle clogged my pores and the oily version was drying. Also, the sunscreen ingredient in the moisturizer is avobenzone, which I'm allergic to. But, Cetaphil is a very popular product, so it must be working for a lot of people.

This is good to read reviews on Cetaphil. I see it in the stores, but I haven't tried it just yet. I usually use Obagi, but I might give this stuff a try for a couple weeks and see how I like it. I am just nervous because I don't usually have very good luck with store-bought brands.

The blue label C doesn't remove makeup, though...right?

I use the oily skin one with Neutrogena oil-free moisturizer for sensitive skin. Cetaphil moisturizer makes me break out last time I checked.

Combo skin... I can imagine it would help normal to dry skin, but with normal to oily skin, I can't really testify.

Can anyone testify to this? Will Cetaphil (blue label) work on normal to oily skin?

No se. I use blue label C in the morning when my skin is already makeup free. I use something else at night if I feel extra grimey or wore makeup during the day. I don't wear makeup much.

I also use it to loosen my eye makeup before washing my face, tho.

I used to swear by the Cetaphil blue label, but when I got pregnant my skin was too oily, and when I used Cetaphil I would get these big cyst-like zits on the sides of my face. Needless to say I won't use that anymore.

Okay, this does not clean the skin well if you wear makeup.

I went over it with my Neutrogena toner and after using TWO cotton balls there was still dirt and makeup on it. I rewashed my face with my regular oatmeal soap and the cotton came out CLEAN with the toner.

Luckily, I bought the real small bottle to test, so I didn't have a problem throwing it away.

Did you wet your face really well first? I wash my face with water sort of before I use this soap. I've heard you have to leave it on a little while before washing it off, so I try to do that, too.

I massage on to a dry face and wash off completely.

    That's what I do too.

I use Cetaphil (blue label) in the morning when I'm not wearing makeup. My skin breaks out and clogs very easily, but Cetaphil doesn't make it do this. I have combo skin and Cetaphil seems to balance it, so it doesn't get oily or dry.

I like the Cetaphil bar soap for Dry/Sensitive skin.

It is practically the only cleaner that doesn't make my face feel like the Sahara Desert. Even the Cetaphil liquid cleansers made my face feel dry.

anyone using the normal to oily cetaphil with success?

the "all skin types" doesn't work for me. makes me breakout i'm convinced.

i like the psf castille cleanser but i want a cleanser i don't have to buy on-line.

I have been using the blue label liquid cleanser for over 10 years. I have very sensitive, combination skin that is prone to moderate acne. Cetaphil plus retin-a have been amazing for my skin.

I prefer Eucerin facial lotion for sensitive skin to cetaphil's version.

I've become a huge fan of CeraVe cleanser this winter...similar to cetaphil but I like it better. I know you can get it at rite aid and walgreens. My wally world does not carry it.

I have been using it for a few months, and my skin has not improved at all.
My skin feels sticky or something when I use it.
I think it's irritating my skin, but I don't know what else to USE!

Me too!!! It was on a list of 'good' cleansers when you have roseaca. Cetaphil just did not clean enough for me but this does but without any tight skin issues. I found it at Walgreens. I would call my skin combo.
