TWA Styles.

For those of us in that weird growing out phase, I thought you may appreciate this pic of a TWA style. I know how to cornrow my own hair so this style shouldn't be too much for me to achieve (however, my arms may get tired from doing all the little twists on my whole head!) Have you found any cute TWA styles? If so, please post pics so that others can be inspired. I think I'm gonna try this style the next time I wash. What do you think?

I BC'd in August after 5 months of transitioning. I am growing my hair out and I am getting bored bc I cant make a ponytail or really do anything. I recently created a new style for myself bc the sides of my hair are growing faster and therefore sticking out oddly. I pushed each side with a bobby pin on both sides in a semi frohawk fashion. Then i pull the front of my hair somewhat forward. I got many compliments and ppl thought I got a new haircut so I guess it was a success. HTH

JJnellie I do the exact same thing to my hair. I do a twist out and then pin the sides up a little. Not so much as to where it looks like a mohawk, but just enough. The reason why I pin my sides is opposite of your reason. My edges are thin, I'm working really hard on keeping them moisturized to rebuild growth and when I undo my twists, you can kind of see straight through to my scalp because of the parts. So that's why I pin it up. Sometimes, I also part and pin down the top of my hair. What I do is, I take a bobby pin and started at the arch of my eyebrow, I draw an invisible line up my forehead and keep going while parting the hair. I take a bit of AVG and smooth down just one side of the part and put the bobby pin in to secure it. I think it comes out pretty cute. I'll try to add pics of that to my Fotki because I think I'm going to rock that hairstyle tomorrow.

Try going straight to the link here.

Tazzy, My hair is like yours. My edges are thinner on the sides so that's my area of concentration. I apply mega-tek to my edges at least every other night. They've filled in some, but the hair there is still very fine. It's a lot fuller than it was before the mega-tek though.

I still have mixed feelings about MegaTek...I'm trying the best I can to try and get the growth on my own before trying something topical.
