Anyone else that's not a fan of Coconut Oil Cause I feel like a Freak about it?

It seems the two oils everyone raves about are the two oils that I happen not to be able to absorb well, coconut oil and olive oil. I find them too oily, and they leave my face and body greasy and not softer after, is this just me, am I the only freak, why

No matter how I use coconut oil (adding it to a conditioner or straight on my hair) my hair ends up being hard and difficult to get out.

ITA, I tried coconut oil several times and it just runs down my neck and leaves my hair too oily. Now I'm starting to believe that my hair dislikes most oils.

No probs with coconut oil here, although right now I'm using carrot oil moreso than coconut oil.

:toothy5: yeah! Not alone in this, what a relief. I thought I had to be somehow mistaken and maybe coconut oil was working in ways I wasn't percieving well.

    is carrot oil less greasy?

same here. a lot of products that include coconut oil work well for me, though - i guess they emulsify it better than i can

The carrot oil I use now is a blend of carrot and other oils. I have one other carrot oil blend that is mostly just carrot oil and it's thinner than the previous formulation.

So I guess it depends on which one you have available to you.

If you have too much oil in your hair period it will feel greasy, or maybe it means you don't really need the oil. My hair seems to just drink it up.

My hair likes EVOO. Also lighter oils like avocado and grapeseed when applied directly to my hair or in product formulations, but hates coconut oil in any form most of time.
3c-4a; Protein Sensitive(forms of wheat, keratin, soy and anything "hydrolyzed"). My hair hates coconut oil and jojoba oil(sometimes).

I do not use any types of oils because I do not like the smell... I'm strictly shea butter.

I hate coconut oil in my hair. It leaves my hair greasy yet dry at the same time. I also got zits on my scalp and along my hairline after using it.

I've tried many times to use coconut oil and they all failed miserably. I've been using it as a pre-poo (using up the rest of my bottle) and its okay. There is no WOW factor. It also makes my skin itch and feels like it just coats my hair, almost like mineral oil.

Coconut oil doesn't seem to work on my hair as well as other oils (castor, grapeseed). I bought some extra virgin unrefined, and am thinking of eating a tsp. per day because it is not going on my hair.

My hair detests coconut oil. It makes my strands greasy and quite stiff. Olive oil is too heavy, and hard for me to rinse out. I stick with Shea Butter.

i just found out the hard way last night that I am indeed allergic to coconut oil. I wasn't sure at first.

.....*sigh*. such a dissapointment. I used an Indian brand and it made my hair hard and gross. I bought some pure, unrefined organic coconut oil from the Vitamin Shoppe yesterday and it felt sooooooo good on my hair and skin so I rubbed it allllllll over my body.

30 minutes later I was covered in a huge rash.

Just out of curiousity, what are you using the oil for? For your scalp or to seal your ends? Speaking of Sealing ends, I did do this for the first time yesterday and it made the ends frizzy. I used castor oil to do it. Is that normal? Is their a technique to this? I am still learning.
