Whipped soft shampoo I found - sea salt added!

I found this when I was looking through handmade shampoo on Etsy, and it really piqued my interest since so many curlies like sea salt to enhance curls. I would think that anybody like me with mag sulfate sensitivity would have a problem with it, but who knows?

This seller makes a lot of different hair products, but this one really grabbed me, especially after the big DW craze and ensuing problems with the site lately.

I wonder about some of the ingredients though - is this sulfate free, or not? it's a little hard to tell for me cuz I'm no chemist. :geek:

Ingredients: salt, sodium cocoyl isethionate, sorbitol, disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate, panthenol, glycerine, wheat protein, stearic acid, fragrance, pentasodiumpenetrate, tetrasodiumetidronate, color, preservative

I have a shampoo that has salt in it and I don't have any evil effects from it. Mine is the Shikai natural moisturizing shampoo. The salt is the 3rd to last ingredient. And I do have issues with mag-sulfate (it does not go away in my hair even though I am using more natural products either!)

The sodium cocoyl isethionate is a sulphate detergent. Don't know if it's one of the harsher or milder detergents but there's more info here:

Hmm. Good to know. This seller seems very approachable though - if there's a call for it, I could always ask them about making a version without the sulfates. Anybody game? :icescream:

ETA: Looks like the disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate is another synthetic detergent. *le sigh* I wonder if they can make a version that doesn't have either of those in it?

    *ROFLMFAO*

Awwright, who went and bought it?? The citrus blast AND the Tahitian vanilla are both gone! *lol*

Just to let you all know, the stuff in those little tubes is the same thing - just smaller and more mess-free packaging.

Bets on when those will all be gone? :laughing8:

Whoa -- salt is the first ingredient. I don't know - those ingredients really look super drying to me.

Yes, I was surprised by that too. In the shampoo I noted it's the 3rd to last ingredient.

Well, maybe whoever bought it will be kind enough to give us a review? If they were from NC, that is.
