Every news show has Joe Biden after the debates...at the end of his interview - all the news shows say - we invited Governor Palin to come on today's show but she declined. What the heck??? Is she that scared? I have never seen anything like this since I have been old to be aware of presidential elections.

If I were leaning towards the McCain/Palin ticket this would sway me the other way. I think you need to get your points out there and to decline coverage is CRRRAAAZY - especially when they are down in the polls.

Maybe shes planning the ceremony for her 17 year old daughter's forced, loveless, we're-just-doing-this-because-Mommy's-running-for-VP marriage. I'm sure it will be a beautiful ceremony, especially with Russia looming in the background...

This is what I don't get... How can they be so supportive of someone they know little about, except from her scripted appearances, and one debate (in which she fell back on much of the same script)? How can they support someone who isn't allowed/doesn't want to talk to the media and get the message out? WHY isn't she talking? Doesn't that seem odd at all?

She's been in this race for about two months. In that time, she should have agreed to numerous interviews. Something just isn't right about that. I'd love to know what the justification is.

I heard that Levi did an interview (I think??) and said they had always planned on getting married and that he loves her. He also dropped out of HS to go to work?? How crazy is that? I think he might have been in his last year. So he is a dropout - if I recall she is behind due to her mono(??). Being teenage parents is tough enough but without a high school education - crazy!

Good point, but poor Levi will be stuck with that "Bristol" tattoo for the rest of his life... I guess it'll make for a good story in his hockey locker room.. "hey guys, did I tell you about the time I was nearly trapped by the Palin family..."

well, in an interview, levi said they've been planning for marriage before they knew bristol was pregnant. how likely is this..i dunno. but, i hope they still go through with it regardless of the outcome of the election.

I don't know how the job market is or how many blue collar jobs are up in Alaska compared to white collar jobs. I know a couple of guys down here with blue collar jobs which make a pretty penny. Of course that's union jobs. I'm thinking working on some oil pipeline or construction are jobs where brawn is more important than brains, maybe that's what he'll go work in.

I think he's a dumb ass for dropping out in his senior year when the kid is due in December. He could have gotten a pt job. At least finish H.S. then go work and try to go to college at night.

If the Palin family is so adamant that they have this kid. I'm sure dear ol Bristol wouldn't be ending up in the welfare line anytime soon. Unless they are of the mind of you better keep it but we aren't helping you at all, which on a national level I expect of republicans but not on a personal level as mother/daughter. I may not care for her but she doesn't strike me as the kind of mom who would abandon her kids in their time of need.

They (Palin family) don't seem like the kind of folks who value education. If I was an undecided voter with children in school, that would be a big concern of mine. I want a president who values education. I like that Michelle is a product of the Chicago Public School system. She knows what it's like and hopefully will give her husband some ideas on how he could make the public school system better nationwide.

    ita with everything.

and i completely forgot that levi dropped out of school to get a job and support his expected family. i couldn't believe that palin would be okay with this. does she not believe that he would of more support to his daughter and her grandchild with a high school degree with the potential for college?

to me, this sends the message that you can't have a family and an education.

i wonder if she tried to talk him out of dropping out.

Hahaha...I wish. No instead she was preparing for her talk this morning in Maine. My state. There's a reason it's cold and rainy today. She gave a speech this morning in Bangor. I really wish I could have gone and witnessed the insanity up close but you needed tickets (to stand around in an airplane hanger!) and I had class and work this morning.

Reading up more about it apparently Lee Greenwood came with her to sing "God Bless the USA"

She's trying to capture 1 of our electoral college votes at a time where the RNC is pulling ads out of Maine to refocus.

If a VP does the job right, you're not supposed to see much of them at all. I don't think we'll see much of Biden, but if Palin were to get in there, she's already told us she's going to be in charge of half the gov't. Besides, McCain is 72 years old and has had malignant melanoma 4 times and hasn't released his most recent health records, so chances are, he won't make it 4 more years and we'd see WAY too much of Palin.

I could care less what the VP looks like or the Pres. Just do your darn job without making the USA look like idiots. And based upon that - I choose Obama/Biden.

Wow! I didn't know that such an important job as the VP should be determined by a beauty contest! You've got me there! Palin is more attractive than Biden. However, Obama is more attractive than McCain.
Oh no! Now what?!? Maybe a talent show. Palin can dance, Biden can sing, McCain can shoot bows and arrows, and Obama can lift weights.
    That'll be fun!

Of course, having an important relative is always a way to get on the "short list" for a job anywhere, but especially in fields where it is who you know, not what you do.
