Poll: How do you apply your product?

Product application is once again giving me trouble! Scrunch, Rake, Comb, Smooth....I don't know what my hair likes....scrunching brings more curl, but uneven application.....raking pulls out the curl, i just wish i could find a happy medium.....

so what do you do? and what is your hair type? I have fine (but lots of it) 3A hair.

i voted the last option. i do my final rinse in the shower upside down, then still upside-down, i smooth product on my underside then scrunch into the rest, then plop. so i guess i don't really smooth any on the canopy, but i do for 2nd day hair.

I also voted for the last option. The only time I rake my hair is when I'm preparing to plop and I want it all pointing towards the floor. After I take my plopping turban off, I keep my head upside down. I smooth the underside with product, then scrunch the rest in. I don't apply any product to the canopy.

I chose the last option as well. I scrunch product in to the ends of towel dried hair and then rub some product on my canopy and sometimes the under side of my hair.

How come no choice for scrunch while hanging hair upside down?? Then after that I scrunch right side up.

I voted scrunch cause when I rake, some bits of my hair can get a bit stringy.

I need a Smooth, Rake & Scrunch option so didn't vote. I usually flip upside down and smooth over the bottom, then run my fingers up through my hair and rake & push through a little to get it up to the top side and then scrunch.

I didn't vote, because I need an "all of the above" choice. I depends on what product I'm applying and what routine I am using.

I voted rake but it's more of a combo of rake, scrunch and smooth. I rake the bottom/nape of neck curls because they are tighter (3b) curls and I want to elongate them a bit, I smooth product on the rest then scrunch it to give it more curl.

LI - Hollywood Beauty Olive Cream Headdress
DT - Hollywood Beauty Olive Cholestrol, SM Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment

I didn't vote either. I smooth and comb my leave in, same with [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Kinky-Curly-Curling-Custard-p-778.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=kinkycurly-curling-custard]KCCC[/buylink] or gel, scrunch a bit with my flour sack towel and then smooth a little more gel over the canopy before clipping my front back and air drying.

3A, fine but thick, low porosity, low to medium resilience, protein sensitive but not to silk

Favorites: Anything from Curly Kinks...their system is my new holy grail. Still liking Juice Organics Orange and TJ Refresh Conditioners as all purpose co-wash and rinse outs.
