Help with dry hair right after a shower

Bonnie.

It takes about an hour for me to straighten my hair (shoulder-length) so I try to do it the night before and it looks so good.

Then I get up in the morning, take a shower without getting my hair wet and run the straightener over it and it just doesn't look as good as it did the night before.

Any suggestions?

What about it exactly doesn't look good? Is it frizzy? Starting to curl up? It may be that the humidity from the shower is causing frizz. Do you cover your hair with a shower cap? It works wonders for me.
