which colour????

This is a question which has been bothering me for months now. A few years ago I was a regular bleacher as I wasn't really happy with my natural colour (mousey brown). Since going CG I've tried to grow out all of my dyed hair and I think I'm almost there :)

Anyway I cannot for the lifr of me decide whether I actually like my natural hair colour now or not :dontknow: Some days I look at it and think it's quite flattering but other days I feel really plain and boring. I do sometimes wish I was blonde again but I really don't want to damage my hair again by bleaching it.

The first pic is my blonde hair (in case you couldnt tell) and the second is my current colour. Which one (and answer me honestly please) do you all think is more flattering? I realise I should probably post this in the colouring forum but I thought I'd get more responses here!

oooh, i DEFINITELY prefer your natural color!!!

The blond is very generic, but your natural color is a kind of strawberry blond and it looks REALLY cute with your curls!

It's actually pretty close to what my natural color is too. I know it feels like it can get a little 'blah' and boring... maybe get some reddish lowlights or something to spice it up if it really bothers you? But I really really like it as-is. Very healthy and shiny!

Both look great, but I like the second one better.
I agree that if you really think it's boring you should get reddish lowlights or something.

I love your natural hair color and natural curls. The blonde is OK, but I prefer your natural color.

Maybe it's the lighting or something, but the picture of you with your natural color is MUCH more flattering. I think the blonde hair color washes out your complexion. The warmer brown tone gives your complexion a warmth.

I agree that both look really nice, but I think I prefer your natural colour (and your natural curls!) I do think, though, that if it's going to make you happier to change the colour that you should go for it.

Natural, definitely- both color and style. If my natural color was as pretty (and flattering) as yours, I'd stop highlighting in a minute.

I'm with everyone else: I like your natural color better. I think it suits you and has a nice red to it.

I agree with everyone else: keep your natural color (and curls)! It's a beautiful shade of strawberry red that others pay dearly for--lucky you! :)

I think you have your answer. ;)

I like the natural color best. It's soooo beautiful on you.

This is probably a bad time to be posting this tip as the sunshine is going away for most of us. BUT. I read in a magazine a loooooonnnnnggggg time ago that Christie Brinkley gets her natural highlights by rinsing her hair in chamomile tea, then going out in the garden and working in the garden. According to my memory, she would wear a straw hat and make some of the holes bigger so she could pul random pieces of hair out to be lightened by the sun. Now, this will damage your hair, but nowhere near as much as bleach.

My shameful secret confession: Before I went red, I would follow the above mentioned tip, then spread it out above me when I went tanning because I hate working outside. And I really hate straw hats. My head never fits in them. And I go tanning (usually) for Seasonal Affective Disorder and to help with Fibromyalgia, so it was killing multiple birds with one stone.

Girl....I LOVE your natural colour! When I logged onto this thread, it was the first picture that caught my eye. It really compliments your skin colour, and makes you just glow. Your hair is in amazing condition too, which is a bonus. I'd definitly continue to work with what you have naturally!

haha well I guess that answers THAT question. I was leaning towards the natural colour to be honest, though I'm not 100% satisfied with it. I suppose I'll have to fiddle around with it until I get it just right :D

Thanks for the responses everyone :)
