ides for a good wax or pomade for 3b/c???

TaraVictoriaTaraVictoria Registered Users Posts: 374
just wondering if anyone could recommend a good finishing wax or pomade? I like that they give some good shine and control - usually - but not sure which ones are better... I just started using LOOB and love it! I wanted a finish for over it, as well as some control... and I have 3b/c curls, pretty tight...
thanks!
Tara - have a curly day!!!

Garnier Fructis Brilliantine Shine Wax has a bit of hold and shine. I like DevaCurl Set me Up also for a pomade type product over dry hair. I also use the LOOB that way sometimes.

I'm not anywhere near your hairtype but I use Pantene Moussing Foam Wax (like a foamy way instead of a hard one) with LOOB and it works great! And it's CG, even though it's Pantene. HTH

Jane Carter Nourish and Shine is one I love. KBB hair butter, or hair cream. Or even her oil works nicely for that.
I tried John Masters Organics and it's not worth the money to me.
At Whole Foods here in NY there is a local natural brand called Earthly Delight that has a pomade that looks good, though it's $15 (which strangely enough is the same price as their much more generously sized shampoos and conditioner).

I got my JC N&S at Whole Foods. And then I figured while I was there I should pick up the other JC products they had, so I did.

I have read that some WF stores don't have it, but I imagine most do.
Amy, did you get Twist and Lock? I love it and it's never mentioned here!

It's a Jane Carter Styling product, but it's not really a buttery pomade. It's more creamy. It's not greasy and gives nice definition.

I've used the JC N & S and the KBB hair butter. I'm not a 3b/c, but the N & S was way too heavy for my hair. The KBB is $16 for 8oz and the JC N & S was $22 for 4oz--if that makes a difference.

I can't remember if they had the Twist and Lock there but if they did I didn't get it or maybe that's the one I thought might be too heavy for my hair. I got the N&S, the spray gel and the Condition and Sculpt. My WF is pretty small so they are limited on what they carry but I may have to check it out next time I'm there.

I know I'm a little late, but Carals Daughter makes a pomade called "Kizzy stay-put Hair Pomade". It smells like mango, citrus candy and give a nice light hold and shine :love7:

Keep it kinky, curly, wavy- whatever.
