I know it probably won't be as good as the original but I want to try.

There are a lot of great natural products out there, but you'd probably have the same problem getting them. There's Whole Foods in Texas. Is one near you? That's your best bet for finding something similar. Supposedly WF was going to sell [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Kinky-Curly-Curling-Custard-p-778.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=kinkycurly-curling-custard]KCCC[/buylink], but nobody has seen it. Just scope out any natural food stores around you.

If you are only going to order one thing online, that might be it. I came across a video on You Tube for a recipe for a gel that is very similar and, in my opinion, MUCH better than the Kinky Curly. It also costs a whole lot less money to make it yourself. I have been using this gel for several months now and just love it. The recipe calls for Jojoba oil but I like to use Coconut Oil instead and I also add a little Ylang Ylang for scent. I just navigated away from this thread and happened to find myself to this one, where someone had posted a video that shows you how to make natural KC. I don't know if the video is any good, but check it out.
