AOHR - Finally tried it!

Mo_Gemini22Mo_Gemini22 Posts: 485Registered Users
I finally used the infamous AOHR. Very thick. I did like my results: soft, managble hair. I think I am a little torn between the White Camelia conditioner and AOHR!

I just started using AOHR too! About how much do you use? It is so much thicker than my suave conditioner that I am afraid of weighing down my hair.

A fairly large amount. I like conditioner to weigh down my hair a little bit because I am 4B

I just started with AOHR, too. I haven't been using conditioners for awhile, but used it as a rinse out and a leave-in today. I think I'm in LOVE! Not too heavy at all for me :)

hmm, good thread! I was just about to post to see if anyone knew of a protein-free conditioner that doesn't contain any skin irritants. now I'm looking at the ingredient list for white camellia conditioner and it seems to be just what I was looking for. hopefully it is on the heavy side because my hair really likes oil and moisture. if not I can add some oil on my own. trip to whole foods tonight!!! let's see if I can get out of there without spending too much $$ :)

Me too! I just started using it 2 days ago after wrecking havoc on my hair with [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/AG-Recoil-p-24.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=ag-hair-cosmetics-recoil-curl-activator]re:coil[/buylink]. This stuff is amazing. After only 2 days it's really restored the moisture in my hair -- and not only faster, but better than all of the DT i tried.

I tried it and ended up with really oily hair - I think I will use less next time and see what happens. It is definitely different. I think it might work if I just operate under that assumption that half of it is not going to rinse out, and choose my amount accordingly. I normally slather on large amounts of conditioner but I guess that doesn't work so well with this one.

It didn't irritate my skin at all, which makes me happy. If all else fails I could mix it with a tiny amount of my shampoo so that it rinses easier.

This stuff is always my go-to main stay. I've tried others but always come back "home". Yes, it's pretty thick, I've bought DT's with less consistancy. And I think what you put on is what you get, but I get lots of slip with it, and it makes my hair oh so happy!:happy9:

This is one of my staples, along with GVP Conditioning Balm and Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Co. At first I thought it was pricey, but since you don't need to use a lot of it (even on my hair, which is waist length) it's really not expensive. Sometimes Whole Paycheck does put it on sale too, which is even better. I've tried the White Camellia too but the Honeysuckle Rose works better for me.

I love, love, love this conditioner. I use it at least once a week. My thirsty, very dry, coarse, thick hair drinks this stuff up. I add about 1/2 a tsp. on day 2 and 3 as a leave in. If there is a more moisturizing, rich, condtioner, I'd love to know about it.

I like to order as much as I can online, as long as shipping is reasonable. I think the best thing for me would be to smell it at the store before purchasing. Thanks.

They have a seal on the top of the bottle so you aren't going to have much luck sniffing it in a store unless there is a tester available. I really like the scent of AOHR and I think it's one of the better AO scents I've smelled. I don't find it to be strong, although I know some do. I mix it with my GVP CB to get deeper conditioning after I low poo.

This AOHR is the business and as soon as it hit my hair I fell in LOVE!! :) Just the right consistency to pack in the moisture and bring on the slip which also makes it a wonderful detangler. No heaviness or anything.

It's def my new HG for LI!!! :happy10::bounce:

I love this conditioner so much!!!!
but it is far too expensive, so I usually just stick with GVP conditioning balm or garnier.... which give me good results as well...
Hair Type: 3b /3a?.... medium texture, normal porosity:afro:

    Conditioner:
    Aussie Moist

    Shampoo: Organix Shampoo

Other products: Paul Mitchell Sculpting Foam Mousse, LA looks Sport gel, & whatever is cheapest for a frizz serum.

It is expensive compared to the usual GVP Balm, Garnier or VO5 and Suave.

I have this new idea (to me at least) that if a product isn't going to do something for my hair then I'm not using it so I tossed my VO5 & Sauve since my reason to use them was only for finger friction - not conditioning.

I'm going out to buy the AOHR today. I cowash a few times a week (no shampoo) so a "better" ingredient product will benefit my hair.

Those conditioners you mentioned? Don't do a thing for me and you're on the money (no pun intended) saying that you should have stuff that actually does what it's intended to do. I've tried going budget vs. spending a little more and whenever I spend a little extra for quality its reflected in my hair. That being said, AOHR is an excellent product that uses quality ingredients and I hope you like it. :)

Now.. b/c its 11.99 a pop, I'm not sure I wanna use it as a cowash (though I did yesterday and loved it) but the LI use definitely applies.

Thanks to Donna - I went to Vitamin Shoppe - guess everyone ran there for the sale because they were clear out of the AOHR so I decided to give the AO White Camellia conditioner a try.

I’m also going to hit the Vitamin Shoppe by work tomorrow for the AOHR.

Interstingly enough I didnt know the Vitamin Shoppe sale has been running this awesome sale since 9-14-2009 till current.:tongue1:
