What stupid things have you done lately?

Let's see if anyone can top me.

I've been under some stress.

All of a sudden today I realize I'm getting sick. Scratchy throat. Congestion. Coughing. Not a good time to be sick.

Don't have Zicam at work.

But I do have zinc capsules! So I take one.

Still feel sick.

Genius idea: why not stick a zinc capsule up my nose and let it dissolve there? Same as zicam nose gel, yuh-huh! :thumbleft:

Only not so much, because the capsule immediately shot up into my sinuses and was well on its way to my brain. Desperate dash to the (unfortunately PUBLIC) restroom. Frantic attempts to do a sinus rinse without a neti cup. Consternation spreads among all ladies present, which turns into disgust when I start snorting and hacking up water and snot.

Finally half of the capsule came out and now I REALLY feel sick and my ear hurts too.

 I can't believe you stuck it up your nose! Poor you. (oh and sorry I laughed out loud when I first read this but DAMN girl you stuck it up your nose!) Hope you feel better soon. (Don't stick more stuff up your nose, OK, let a professional do that, LOL.)

LOL. Sorry for laughing, but that's pretty funny.

That reminds me of the time I had a bad cold, but no Vick's vapo-rub, so I tried Icy-Hot on my nose (it's menthol, right?). Um, no. That hurt.

I haven't done anything stupid lately, but it's still early in the day.

The thing about doing something stupid is it happens so quickly...and yet there's such an abundance of time for regret.

Come on! Surely there's someone who's stuck something somewhere that they now wish they hadn't! Boarderhopper? Or even Zman?

Does it count that when I was younger I thought it would be a good idea to stick the caps of my ecezma cream up my nose and then I couldn't get them out and my mom tried with a pair of twezzers but she finally had to take me to the hospital... :angry7:

Well, there was that time I got a Nerd stuck in my nasal/sinus cavity... I'm sure some will remember that thread.

I happened to clear my throat as I was eating some Nerds and one just shot right up there! I tried forever to get it out, but I'm pretty sure it just melted. Or maybe it's still up there......:happy2:

Accidentally took two ambian. I woke up standing naked in my kitchen eating cat food at 2 in the morning. I thought they were wasabi peas. :(

I read the entire pamplet that came with the Ambian bottle and that was NOT listed as a side effect.

My brother dared me to swallow a thumbtack when we were kids. My poor mom had to, ahem, investigate to see if it ever came out. I think she just forgot about it after a while, so who knows!

Anyhow, I think I'd rather have a nerd in my nose!

*Snort* Okay, now that is bad! I've eaten during the night when I was taking Ambien, but never cat food.

he was trying to prove his innocence by pointing it out. he didn't do it sarcastically because he'd get punish for his attitude even if he wouldn't get punished for the chocolate. it would have been a win and the lose situation for him.

I don't know that I can top that, but I did swallow a pill dry once because I was too lazy to leave my desk and get water. My chest started hurting, and I thought maybe it was stuck somewhere, so I drank hot tea trying to "melt" it. It turns out that one of the side effects was burning/ulcers of the esophagus! It had to be taken with water. It was days before the pain in my chest went away.

I once put canker sore medication in my eye! :angryfire: It burned and then it made my eye very numb! In my defense, it was in a bottle identical to my allergy eye drops and I had my contacts out.

I also found a missing contact in my ear. I still can't figure that one out - and there was no alcohol or prescription drugs involved.

I gave myself two concussions last year in short succession from standing up too quickly and hitting my head on things.

I was once wearing a belt that was too large, so I was trying to add another hole to it with an ice pick and stabbed myself in the stomach.

I had a mix of valium and ibuprofren in a baggie. The valium was for my daughter who had had her wisdom teeth taken out. I had dumped her medication into the baggie with my medication so we could take the container in with our water to have it tested for hardness. I had forgotten all about her medication being mixed with mine & one morning I woke up with a headache. I thought I was taking ibuprofren, but I took valium instead. The dosage on valium was 1/2 tablet & I took 2 of them. I felt wonderful for about 30 minutes, then started getting dizzy & puked my toenails up for the rest of the day. Unfortunately, I was at work when the pills took affect.

Once I accidentally used nail polish remover on my face instead of toner. They were the same color and I wasn't paying attention. I don't recommend it.

I went to work one morning (on the bus) with a shower cap sticking out of my collar. Got distracted when I was dressing and forgot to take the darn thing off so when I put my shirt on over my head it ended up in my collar. Didn't even know it until a co-worker pointed it out. Well, at least I didn't go to work with it still on my head!
