Chop it all off?

I've been thinking about cutting my hair really short for a while now, and now I think I'm finally going to do it.

The only thing is I'm into the emo look, so all the hairstyles I like require me to straighten my hair every day.

My mom loves my curls and really doesn't want me to straighten them. I've had really, really long hair (It's down to my tailbone) for as long as I can remember, and I need a change. Here's a pic of me:

And here's the sort of cut I'm considering:

I've attempted to find a short hairstyle that's curly and works, but I seriously don't think they exist. All the ones I've found aren't really me, if that makes sense. I'm only 16, and I want something fun, feminine, and a little edgy that really suits my style. Help? :blob7:

Those hairstyles are real cute and they would look good on you. I also think you'd look way cute with a little longer and curly flopped to one side. Random I know. I couldn't do it with my hair, cause the back is basically straight. It's not emo but it's different!

Thanks! I got it cut, just not as short as I was planning. It's sort of an inverted bob, but there isn't any layering or anything. I love it, I think I look adorable. Here's a pic. :)
