Michael Jackson turns 50 today

Is that unbelievable or what? I always thought he was younger, not sure why. Maybe it's that childlike way he has. Wonder what he would look like today if he hadn't had all that plastic surgery?
I have 3A hair. I've discovered Jessicurl shampoo and Too Shea conditioner and I'm thrilled! Long-time LA Looks sport gel user.

I knew how old he was, because he was born the same year as my older brother and my husband.

We'll never know what he would have looked like...probably a handsome man, instead of the monster he's made himself into.

Just like we'll never know what a truly beautiful woman like Priscilla Presley would have looked like as she aged, because she chose to mar herself with plastic surgery instead.

There are truly too many PS horror stories out there.

My guess is, not too different from his brothers:

But even if he hadn't gotten ALL the plastic surgery that he's gotten over the years, I think he would've still gotten some surgeries, or enough surgeries to appear more youthful like his sister Janet.

RCW, I'm constantly amazed when I see how some of these celebrities have mangled their faces with bad plastic surgery, MJ probably being the all-time worst ever.

Speckla, does he have a nose left?!

midgi, those are some normal-looking guys. MJ looks anything but. If only he could have just done a little here and there. I feel sad thinking that he's reached this milestone and he looks like such a freak, but I guess it doesn't bother him.

Doesn't he have a prosthetic nose? No joking about that.

He was cute kid, cute teen, and probably would have been a very nice looking adult.

It's scary, but it actually makes me feel bad for him. Like I really just want to give him a hug.

All his surgeries are evidence of psychological problems and my question has always been: why didn't anyone intervene?

I don't blame him. I blame the many PS's who allowed the surgeries to continue. Somebody should've put their foot down after the first two.

Sometimes it HELPS for other people to get involved in your business, especially when it's apparent that you need to be saved from yourself.

I agree. What kind of doctors would continue doing plastic surgery on that poor wrecked nose of his? It's shameful really. The possible child abuse stuff really turned me off of him, but it's hard not to feel some kind of pity for the man.

They are performing malpractice in my opinion. Body dysmorphia is a real disorder and skews the way the patients see their body. The almight dollar is the motivating factor in a lot of these cases where common sense should make the doctors say, no more.

michael isn't the only jackson member to jump on the plastic surgery wagon. jermaine, janet, and the other sisters did too. and mama and joe as well. it's a family affair.

    that is not janet's nose.

my inner doctor phil tells me that michael has deep-seeded issues with his parents and family to the degree that he wanted to eradicate any resemblence to them. and he succeeded.

such a shame because he was an adorable little boy and handsome young man. maybe the chemicals in the jherri curl altered his brain, cause that's when it all started. blame it on the soul glo!

our children look so much like my husband and me and their cousins on both sides. i'd be deeply offended if they grew up not liking characteristics that are of my husband and me.

see how much he looks like his mommy and daddy?

I don't feel sorry for him. He needs psychiatric help, that's for sure, but he's a kid-toucher and kid-touchers don't really deserve my pity.

It's sad to see those old pics of him. It's hard to relate the MJ from Off The Wall (when I became a fan) to what he's become. So many of us grew up listening to his music and to not only see what he did to himself physically, but to know that he is (well, I at least believe) a child molester. I think a lot of people failed him. His family, his friends, his handlers... It happens a lot to child stars. As long as they are bringing in the $$$ everyone turns a blind eye to what's really going on.

    SNORT!

ETA: Now I am watching "Beat It." Man, he did some good videos. I think I will go and buy the Thriller album just to go back in time a little bit.

Not that I encourage buying MJ's music, but if you're going to buy anything, buy a greatest hits compilation. The Off the Wall era was great!

The bolded is my theory as well. I feel so sad for the little boy that Michael used to be. He had such kind, sensitive eyes. I think he probably couldn't deal with the family issues & fame--what child could? :sad8:

Well, with the Neverland Ranch and his never ending desire to stay a child...

Personally, I think he is striving to become his personal idol.

    peterpan-1.jpg

And truthfully, he looks a little like him, too. With the hair and the nose and white skin and all.
