FOTE is evilll.

Many people have been raving about FOTE on here and I accidentally misread the label. Im into organic and all natural products and it says 100% gel, not 100% ALOE VERA. It contains urea and TEA, which dries out my hair like no others! It also made my curls extremely hard. :( Now I am in search of another aloe vera gel brand with only organic/herbal ingredients.

:( I'm really sorry it didn't work out for you. Different things work for different people, I guess. Good luck on your search!

You probably want to be looking at food-grade aloe intended for use as a supplement, then. I've been having pretty good luck with Lily of the Desert.

Check out Theraneem Leaf and Aloe Vera Gel. It says it's for skin but it's perfect for my hair. Ingredients: aqueous extract of certified organic neem leaf, certified organic aloe barbadensis gel, carbomer, sodium hydroxymethyul glycinate (from an amino acid). It does not dry my hair out; I use over a conditioner leave in. Doesn't smell like neem either (a plus).

Playing with my hair is a hobby. Fluffy, fine natural 4a. Goal= Healthy, beautiful hair that retains its length.
Hear that crash? It's me falling off the CG wagon.

While you can buy it online, I did a search at:

    http://www.organixsouth.com/theraneem.html

My local health food store carries their products, as do several others in the area.

TEA is short for triethanolamine ... a suspected carcinogen in lab studies because of contaminations with nitrosamines.

i never thought fote was natural because it has the consistency of a hair gel. true aloe vera gel is viscous and watery ... and may be drying too, so be forewarned.

this one is pretty much aloe vera and nothing else but it isn't gel like but quite watery.
