How do I plop my hair?

rps23rps23 Posts: 53Registered Users
I am so confused about how to plop my hair. I think my hair is 2a but when I diffuse it with mousse it's more 3a. I wanted to try the Curl Girl Method to make my hair more healthy and embrace my curls. I am finding it particualy hard to plop my hair. I don't understand how to do it. Help please?? Thanks X

Go to www.jessicurl.com and go to her "Plunking" video and watch it. She makes it easy to understand! Good luck :)

Thanks JLow that video really helped. Although, I'm not sure if this will work for my hair because it's only 2c/2b.

It's worth a try, plopping works for me and I'm 2C but 10-20 mins is plenty of time or I frizz. I'm not sure who started this plopping thing, its not from the original CG book but it works! You'll probably still have to clip the crown if you're air drying after the plop.:blob7: If you frizz after the plop your current product might not be plop compatible.

Or you may have plopped too long for your hair. I can only plop for 5-10 min, others seem to be able to plop for hours and even all night.

Plopping can give your a curl pattern a bit of strangeness but clipping as del2c says can help with that as can a few seconds of light scrunching after the plop with some gel (or whatever product you use).

FYI I can only flop for 5 minutes. Everyone is different so experiment to find a time that works for you.

I plop my 2b/c hair every day! Works fine.
