Tips For Sexy Smoky Eyes?

On New Year's Eve, I'm really interested in smoky eyes and I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on how to achieve this. Is it easy to do, or should I go to a makeup artist?

i think it's easy to do because i've been doing it most of my life.

use two tones of the colour you want, a medium and dark.

smokey eyes can be done in grey, brown, green, dark blue and purples.

use the medium shade all over the lid and the dark one to shade in the crease and as eye liner. line under the eyes too.

LOTS of mascara completes the look, if you can wear false lashes easily, that's even better.

practice makes perfect. put eye cream under your eyes so you can wipe away any shadow that drops below and don't put on foundation until your eyes are done.

    good luck!

    Rou,

Would the medium shade go all the way up to right under the eyebrow? What about a highlighter? Thanks!

a highlighter isn't necessarily a part of a smokey eye look, but if you're going to do one, make sure it's in the same colour family as the shadow colours - warm with warm, cool with cool.

Thanks so much! I'll definitely use this method using various shades of brown.
