Take some motrin! And remember to breath!! :toothy7:

Getting brazilians is the best decision I ever made in regards to shaving etc. I don't get any rashes - it grows in much slower, etc etc.

I had to cancel my appt a couple of months and shaved for the 1st time in about 1 1/2 years - NASTY! Itchy, bumpy, annoying.

i recently read an article about how hair down there is what "traps" our phermones (in a good way) and when we overshave/overwax we sort of limit our ability to attract the opposite sex with our natural scents. just an interesting perspective.

that said...pain medicine before and don't get tense. i've only gotten the sides waxed so i could wear a swimsuit without worry....i've never had a landing strip.

my friend and i were talking about this because her wax lady was saying how many pregnant women get waxed on a regular basis and especially before delivery. i was surprised....

Interesting....I'm pregnant and never waxed before (eeeep!), but I trim it with an electric doodad. I've been doing that for years. I just like "her" to look neat, KWIM? I plan to keep this up for as long as I can before I have strangers looking at my vajayjay in the hospital. I don't know if I'd resort to waxing during pregnancy, though, especially when my belly starts getting big. One good rip and I might go into labor or something.

Ask them if you can take an Advil or something an hour beforehand. I have a high tolerance for pain and I thought the brazilian I got smarted quite a bit.

Don't know if a warm compress before waxing would also ease the pain? And don't be embarassed... especially if you're getting the back door waxed too. You gotta get on your hands and knees (yes, rump in the air) for that one. I think waxers have seen it all...

Take a few advil beforehand, you'll be alright. The first one will be the worst, it gets better after that.

i think hairy p.ubes (with a trimmed bikini line) looks womanly.

i don't understand the fascination and sex appeal with a woman's p.ubic area looking bald and little-girlish.

Which is why I don't want to go completely bald. I would feel strange. I prefer the groomed-but-still-womanly look.

It's really nice during the hot Atlanta summers too. Hot sweaty crotch @ work = not attractive.

A completely denuded area feels WONDERFUL to me. I've always toyed with the idea of getting it before but was too scared (and didn't know where to go) but since I'm going to DR and will be wearing bathing suits and whatnot... I'm getting my legs waxed for the first time too! Can't wait, cause lawd I HATED shaving and plucking and tweezing.

OH BOY @ Phoenix, makes me think face down, *** up!!! :laughing7:

On another board I frequent, some guys said that it's pubic hair they associate with younger girls, not a bald pubic area. It's because when they were younger and first started experimenting sexually, the girls they fooled around with had full-on p.ubes. It wasn't till they got older that they were with women who groomed down there.

I thought that was interesting- something like that never would have occurred to me on its own, lol.

And there are a number of reasons why a bald or at least closely-trimmed pubic area (on both men and women) is hot- for both partners. It exposes sensitive skin that otherwise wouldn't get much stimulation, and it increases sensitivity everywhere else too. It's nicer if you're on the giving end of oral. Personally l I just find it's more comfortable overall.

This thread is worthless without pics! :laughing7:

I would love to be able to afford Brazilians but right now I shave with a razor & use a little trimmer to maintain other areas.

It definitely feels amazing. It looks OK to me, as good as neatly trimmed, just different.

And there is absolutely no need to ever leave the waxing table to get everything (and I do mean EVERYTHING) waxed off. A good aesthetician/waxer can get it all done on the table, with your back against the table, just manipulating your limbs/ contorting you a bit.

Are you referring to my on-all-fours post? I was still on the table.

    ITA on both!

As for total baldness, it would look weird to me. But the smoothness feels so good. It could be fun too...

Yes, I was. I have never been asked to get into that position for a brazilan wax of ALL parts. It strikes me as a little strange and maybe humiliating? The entire process is definitely intimate, as intimate as a gynecological exam. But I wouldn't want to have to squat on all fours for it. I'd have to draw the line there.

It is beyond incredible in the shower and bath. Even alone, just for yourself. Definitely worth trying someday, as long as you brace yourself for the piercing pain (that goes away rather quickly).

Interesting...may be true. Sounds like a contrived response to stave off any suggestion of pedophilia to me. I associate nude hoo ha with pre-p.ubescence. Ick.

But, again, it's probably a generational thing for many of us. I don't feel I have to keep up with the young uns. I realize that I would drown if tossed back into the dating pool. Fortunately, my guy is even more old-school than me and finds the *triangle* more appealing. In fact, his words to me when I asked if he would like it better hairless were "Don't. you. dare." complete with a rascally smile. :love7: This is one of my criteria for being a *real man.* Sorry, that's just my personal preference. Take me as I am or not at all! I don't prefer my men all slick and shiny either all over either. If you're hot, you're hot...hair or not.

BTW, kudos to all of you who can tolerate all that pain and humbling positioning. If I were wearing a swimsuit in public, I wouldn't want to look like a sandwich with alfalfa sprouts either.
OK, I admit it.....I'm an alias! I wasn't born with the name Honeycurls!

I don't get the totally bald pubic area thing either. It's too 12 year old girl/sleazy porno to me.

And getting waxed while pregnant? That is about the last thing in the world I would want to do right now. Who cares if the doctor sees my *****? She's going to see everything else anyway.

To each their own, of course.
