Hi! I'm new and I'm not sure what hair type I am...

I'm new to the site and I could use some help in determining my hair type. I think I'm a 2C/3A but I'm not sure. I've included some pictures that you can see if you click on the link below. What hair type do you think I might be?

/home/leaving?target=http%3A%2F%2Fpublic.fotki.com%2Fpudgymusicgirl%2F" class="Popup
2C, mixture of medium/coarse texture, with high porosity, normal elasticity, and high density (very thick)
my current routine is:
Jessicurl Hair Cleansing Cream
Jessicurl Too Shea! Extra Moisturizing Conditioner
Redken Fresh Curls Curl Refiner
Jessicurl Weekly Deep Conditioning Treatment
wash twice weekly, rinse with conditioner every other day, deep condition once a week, use demi-permanent hair color (ammonia-free), use hood dryer or air-dry

    Hello and welcome!

I'm not the best "typer" but I'd say 2C.

Your hair looks really thick and healthy.

Thank you, whatsercurl, for your input. 2C is what I was thinking too, although when it's a little shorter I can get some pretty good curls if I scrunch it well and it's a good hair day. Thank you for the compliment! I'm curious about the pineapple trick-is it a good technique for really thick hair, and is it uncomfortable to sleep with it up like that? How does it help for second day hair? Maybe it would work well during workouts too... (at home, of course :) )

I don't think my hair is quite as thick as yours but it works really well for me. It isn't uncomfortable at all because the hair is on top of your head. Ponytail sticking out of your head hence the name pineapple.

I get multiple day hair out of it. I only do my hair once a week now.

I also use it for workouts in the gym (although it's on the high back not top) or scrubbing the floor. ;)

excellent-I'll have to try it. The scrunchie doesn't mess with the waves or curl pattern after having it in your hair for awhile?

It looks pretty wonky when it comes down at first. Mine stands practically straight out. But I think the fact that you use a scrunchie instead of an elastic the curls don't get smooshed or pulled out.

I was dubious it would work and didn't try it for a long time after hearing about it. Now I do it every night. Once it's settled from coming out - takes about 5-10 min - I spritz with some water and apply a bit of product if I think it needs it. Wait till it dries and scrunch it out.

thank you, whatsercurl! And nice to meet you, by the way :)
I've got more questions about product but I've got to go fix dinner so I'll check in later...
Is it better to if I start a new thread since the product questions will be off-topic from the hair type question? Just curious, and want to make sure I'm being a helpful poster...

Yes that would work. Especially if you post in general. More people troll it than some of the other lists.

Nice to meet you too. :)

    Enjoy dinner.
