Vigorol Curls Curling Creme?

OK, so I've been seeing this product at the CVS in downtown Atlanta (near my job), and I picked it up today. There's a thread about it on Happy Curls. Anybody else tried it? It's apparently hard to find. It's available online @ Beauty of New York, or in some CVS stores. I may try it out tomorrow! I wonder if it's been discontinued already, though...

personally, i LOVE it. it gives remarkable definition for something so light(even though it is pretty creamy). it has a perfect, soft hold, and doesn't cut down on too much volume. th best thing is...

its super moisturizing. sometimes, i just use it as a leave in.

Be careful at the beautyofnewyork site. My anti-spyware program detected a trojan spyware thingy.

Hmm, I've never ordered from there, but thanks for the warning!

I used the Curl Creme this morning. I washed with a soap/shampoo bar and did an ACV rinse. Then, I conditioned with Elucence, letting it sit before detangling with my Denman. I rinsed the Elucence out and added a bit more for a leave-in. I then smoothed a bit of jojoba oil onto my ends.

I smoothed/raked about a dime-sized amount of the Creme through each half of my hair. It felt good going on - nice and creamy. Then I plopped with my flour sack towel for about 5 minutes while I got dressed. I then removed the towel and shook out my hair.

    Mini-Review:

So far, it doesn't look any different than usual, LOL. I usually just use Elucence, [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Jessicurl-Weekly-Deep-Conditioning-Treatment-p-106.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=jessicurl-weekly-deep-conditioner-treatment]Jessicurl WDT[/buylink], and DevCurl SIF as my "stylers". However, my hair sure feels nice and soft, and I have no white clumps or anything in it. I'll have to wait until it dries completely for a final verdict, but so far, I don't have any bad things to say about it. But I don't have any great things to say yet, either.

If you have a good anti-spyware program, beautyofnewyork should be okay.

My Vigorols Curls cream arrived incredibly fast from that place, like 2 days later. I ordered 10-11 pm 7/30 and received it 8/1. I haven't used it yet. I also got some Miss Keys 10 en 1 -- anyone have any experience with that?

I never used that one, but it was very popular over at LHCF. Is that one of the conditioners that Maria uses? It's supposedly super slippy, so good luck with it!

Still liking the Vigorol so far - I don't know if it's a HG for me, but it leaves my hair so soft and moisturized. I've been using it the last 2 days on shower-dampened hair to revive my curls.

Since the HC post, I have been trying to locate this product but couldn't find it. I never tried CVS. I know what store I'll be going to tomorrow.

I used the Vigorols over Mop Top conditioner (about 70% left in) and Jane Carter nourish and Shine. Plopped, then Theraneem AV gel. Very nice texture, but God does this stuff reek! It had a very light smell in the jar, but my nose has been catching this fragrance all day and I'm sensitive to most artificial fragrances. Hopefully it fades tomorrow.

I was wondering how you'd do with the smell. To me, it fades pretty quickly, but it's strong in the jar. I can't smell it once it's in my hair. I actually think Elucence has a stronger smell....that stuff makes my hair smell like peach schnapps for days.

I've used it, I had to add a little oil under it though, cuz once I scrunched the crunch it seemed really dull, I now have found a new regimen, so I have been using it for twists, so I can finish it, but its a great all in one product.

If anyone has a National Wholesale Liquidators near them, I just found it there today. Picked it up by chance and thought, hmm.. wonder what the ladies at nc.com would have to say about this product.
Looks like I made a good choice to try it out. :)

I guess I'm slow...I was upset that the hair stores don't carry Miss Jessies but the other day I happened to be walking up and down the aisle at the hair store and realized they carry the Curls products... so I just tried it today for the first time and it's not bad at all... they carry it right here in Decatur, GA.... yay- I'm excited :-)

I have been searching for threads about this stuff since I signed up as a member. I had been looking for something to enhance my curls that didn't cost three arms and a leg. I was walking the aisle at one of the local CVS's in Union City, GA and seen this product. I was willing to give anything a try before going out and buying one of those expensive products. I bought the creme and the mousse. I used just the mousse for the first week and I liked it but, if left my hair stiff until I crunched it. Then I tried the mousse with the creme and had the white flakes in my hair. I swore off the creme. Then I watched a video on how women applied product in sections (I never did this. My hair will curl from the crown to the nape from just water alone. I have a problem with the hair on the end at the top and sides). So at any rate I got up the next morning before work with my spray bottle and Curls creme and applied the product in sections. Well ladies, I love it!!! I spent less than $5 on the product and achieved the same if not better results without breaking down from peer pressure of going out to buy any of the MJ or Hair Rules devils.

Since I now know it is a hard find I am going to buy 2-3 jars the next time I'm in the CVS.

I loved it for the definition, but the smell.....I can't take it. It's TOO perfumey for me now. I used to be able to tolerate, but I can't anymore. LOL! But other than that, it's a good product.
A wonderful mix of coils, curls, corkscrews, and kinks.

I found it in a CVS in union city GA, (thanks to the earlier post of someone stating they found it there). I found out only selected stores stock it... I love it! It works wonders and very cheap. I bought all that was on the shelf (4 bottles). Also advised the manager they were the only CVS in the area to stock it.... He was happy an promise to keep it in stock! If you want ur local store to order it....let them know and buy it so they'll keep it stocked....Good searching :-)

According to wiki, DMDM hydantoin is an antimicrobial formaldehyde releaser preservative. Even though it's low on the list that can't be good.

Well, I'm late in the game!

I found this at a BSS 2 weeks ago and it looked cheapie, so I wasn't sure if it would be worth it...I used it as a moisturizer for a twistout, so I don;t know yet how it fares as a definition creme. I can say that a little goes a long way! I didn't have anything on my hair before I put this in, and it took much less than I thought to cooat my hair. I LOVE that  It felt soft and well-moisturized; once I use it as a regular defining creme, I'll know if I found a good gel replacement :?:

Glad you saw it. I still use it, but had a bit of a time finding a jar last time I purchased it. I'm due for a repurchase soon. Only Asian BSS's carry it around here.

It's funny about the smell. I am very fragrance sensitive and it bothered me the first time I purchased. But I'm okay with it now.

This used to be HG status for me back in the day but I stopped using it because it was hard to find. Only a few CVS's carry it and I'm not down with stalking CVS looking for it. That said, it's a good curl creme, but it can be a bit drying so use a good leave in under it and you're golden.
