curl friendly hair salon or stylist in london ontario

Hi Folks :)

Just wondering if anyone knows of a good place to go to get curly hair cut dry in London, Ontario. I have phoned and been to a number of different places, and have not been able to find anyone, bar the one man who used to cut my hair super super short, dry. My haircuts have been high and low end, and usually turn out disastrous in one form or another. I am so frustrated! It is like hairdressers just do not understand how to cut curly hair for someone who wears it in the natural state.

I was doing some research, and found a shop in Toronto called Dilineation. Does anyone know of this place and what they are like? According to their website, they offer Deva hair cuts there. I am tempted to make the two hour drive to try out a hair cut.

Thank you for any help you can give me.

:)
Lou

Oops...I just found the thread on the second page about Deliniation. I would still be interested in feed back though, if anyone has any.

I should have mentioned too, my hair is either 2c or 3a...not sure which. The curliness greatly depends on the haircut, product, and weather.

    :)

If you are willing to take the 2 hour drive - why not go to the Curly Hair Institute - close to the 401 and Yonge Street. Also there is Curl Ambassadors and Chiggys which are both mentioned in this site under salons in Toronto.

I usually visit family and do the Curly Hair Institute at the same time.

Goodness went to Physio today and the receptionist had the most beautiful curly hair. I commented on how nice her hair was and then the discussion started....I asked her where she got her hair cut and she said that the last 'best' haircut was in London, Ontario. Now we both live just south of Ottawa so London isn't doing it.........I will ask her the specific name in London where she got it cut and pm you asap.

    Good Luck!

Unfortunately it seems that there is no one that specializes in Curly hair in London. There's a place on Albert Street where one of the stylists told me he does curly hair BUT he said he cuts it wet......so I really hesitate to go there. That goes against any curly cut I've ever gotten. Devachan in NYC always cut my hair dry then they washed / conditioned then dried then cut a little more to make sure it was just right). If anyone has found someone in London (who cuts dry), please let me know.

Lisa Sallabank at Entrenous on Richmond street. I lived in London for years and she is amazing. I drove back 2-3 hours to see her after I moved. I can;t do that anymore and its so sad. I had amazing hair when I saw her. She taught me how to manage my curl. Lauren is good there too but Lisa was better.

If anyone is looking for an amazing hairstylist in London, ON - you must check out Lisa Sallabank at Salon Entrenous (579 Richmond St., downtown London, 519-433-8129). I am pretty much a nightmare in the chair, simply because I've never had a really great cut (I'm sure many of you with curly hair can relate) and I am very particular. I asked several different people (friends and strangers alike) and Lisa's name kept coming up so I decided to check it out for myself. Lisa is a dream - friendly, down to earth; she really listens and gives heaps of feedback. From this point on I won't trust my curls to anyone else. She has several skilled stylists who can cut curly hair and (IMO) the colourists do not disappoint. Friendly staff, reasonably priced....check out Lisa at Salon Entrenous....you'll be thrilled with the results!:thumbup:

I couldn't get in with my regular stylist at Salon Entrenous (Lauren), so I just saw a stylist named Susie who works there (upstairs), she was so good! I don't know if anyone else on here has tried her, but I would for sure recommend her for curly hair, she really knows her stuff!

I've been to various salons in London, Ive had no luck, I walk out and instantly tie my hair in a ponytail since they do a terrible job. I travel to Toronto i absolutely love Red Label Hair Salon

I need to get a haircut in the next few weeks so this thread has been really helpful. I'm going to try either Entrenous or Jennifer Naturals depending on their schedules and I'll report back on my experience afterwards!
2a-2b, high porosity, high density, fine texture, medium length

Tried CG off and on but really want to make it work this time... as long as I can find a way to beat these high dews

I also recommend Lisa Sallabank at Entrenous. I went to her to cut my long hair super short and my visit was amazing. She is really impressive. Not only did she cut my hair perfectly, but she gave me a ton of feedback on how to manage curly hair, what to do, what not to do, etc. I am never going to another stylist.

Are there any London, ON salons that sell curly hair products? Or must I resort to buying online? Looking for Jessicurl, KinkyCurly, Curl Junkie etc.

The thread has said that Lisa at Entrenous is great with curly hair, so I called today and she is going on maternity leave in 3 weeks. So ladies who use Lisa, who are you going to try in her absence.
