So, green or hazel?

Around the end of last year I brought this question up, but didn't include pictures.

Son said hazel. Optometrist said hazel. Hubby said green. I thought they were green. I forget what other people said.

I say "OMG beautiful green!"!!! And here I thought I had green eyes... I'm no expert, but I believe hazel has a more brown/green effect? Want.lazyloops.really.green.eyes....

I pick green as well....you do have a touch of hazel around your pupil....but when I see your eyes I definitely think green!

    Thank you all. :)

Here's another taken outside, but this time the sky was cloudy & all I did was crop the photo. Flash wasn't even used.

    Do you still say green?

Yes. Omg pretty. I see the small ring of hazel near the pupil but I don't see how it's not mostly green.

I'm ashamed to admit, but I didn't even notice your eye color when we met! That's usually the first thing I notice. I'm such a dork. I say green. But if your eyes are anything like mine, they migrate between hazel, green, grey and bluish-grey. Very very, pretty, though.

I actually think hazel. Looking closely at the iris, it seems predominately green, but taking a step back the grey around the edges and the golden in the middle really pull it into a hazel mixture, I think.

I'm going to differ from everyone and say grayish.

Now you're starting to confuse me a bit. I still say predominantly green and gorgeous with the hazel center ring, but the second picture looks like slate/green, more of a grayish hue, this last one looks definitely more hazel. What I need to know is why you have none of the nasty red lines running throughout the whites like I have all over the place :laughing7:?

I did a double take when I saw the pictures you posted, those could be pictures of one of my eyes! I would definitely say not hazel, I think of hazel is more of a light brown verging on golden/green. I consider my eyes to be gray, but I'm always surprised how many people think they are green or blue. With me it depends on lighting and what I'm wearing, some things really bring out the gold flecks in my eyes, some the blue/green. I used to wish my eyes were just one color, the same color, all the time, but now I enjoy having chameleon eyes. You look like you have lovely eyes by the way!

I don't understand how people can say that's hazel, because that looks really green to me. Your eyes are actually greener than my mom's, and she has dark green eyes (and she has a similar hazel ring around the iris as well).

Man - I always thought my eyes were green - now I am not so sure after seeing LLs (absolutely beautiful!!). What do you guys think? (no eye makeup so you can see my non-existent lashes/brows!) I always get people saying mine are blue which totally throws me off!!

People say the same thing to me. But my eyes are almost never blue. They're chameleon and range from gray to green to hazel. But people tell me I have blue eyes for sure.

And the one below is incandescent lighting:
