Yippee! Another RC Question!

I'm going to give Robert Craig a try... ordered and received Golden Chestnut. I was reading the instructions and see that I also need/may need "Clear".
I'm alittle confused about this.... I'm not mixing any colors.. do I have to use it?

I think those instructions are just included in case you are mixing with Clear. It is not necessary at all, just extra info.

I will be gone on vacation for 10 days, so if you need more help, try a search for RC Color. Or post back here, as jillipoo and several others have great experience with it as well. Good luck! :) I look forward to reading the results when I get back.

    Funny you should ask! :)

Yes, I did color... Saturday. I used the Golden Chestnut and it's way, way too dark. I've only washed my hair once since and I'm hoping it will lighten up a bit after a couple of washings. I don't use a blow dryer so it won't get lightened that way.
Can you recommend anything that will lighten it?

Next time, I may have to mix two colors... which scares me... any suggestions?

I have to ask: did you do a strand test? (geez, no one reads my sig line!) ;)
Sounds like it should have been left on for less time. The longer it is on, the darker it gets. You can either leave it on less time, or mix with a blond next time. What color swatch is closest to your natural color?

You can do a DT, esp with heat, that will pull out some color. But maybe just DT w/out heat first, you don't want to strip all the color, just lighten. LMK if it works.

    Yes, I did a strand test!! :)

I am interested in mixing a blonde color with it...
My natural color is darkish brown.. not dark, almost black.. just dark brown.. I haven't seen my virgin hair in very long time but, I'm guessing I'm about 40-50 % grey.
    Any suggestions?

Oh... and I thought I was nuts... in my OP I asked about the clear color directions and was very confused...well.. I figured out that I didn't get the instructions for color .. I just got the clear ones... I figured this out right before I started, to see exactly how long it leave it in and realized that I couldn't find that page.. went on their website and noticed that there was a set of instructions I didn't get.

That is strange about the instructions, no wonder you were confused! :sad8:

Did the strand test come out too dark also, or did you leave it on longer afterwards? Just curious why it came out darker. How large was the strand? Sometimes it's hard to see the color unless it's a larger swatch.

You can try mixing with #15 Golden Beige Blonde. I haven't mixed it with Golden Chestnut, but I have mixed it with Light Chestnut. That's what I've been currently using for the roots. That will lighten up the color.
