What puts the slip into detanglers?
Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone knew what puts the "slip" into conditioners/detanglers and can you then add whatever this mystery ingredient to other conditioners to give them more slip?

When I get to be 'Queen of the World', I will absolish WIND!!!:queen:
"Di Water, Dicetyldimonium Chloride, Sunflower Extract, Chamomile Extract, Aloe Leaf Extract, Calendula Flower Extract, Isoceteth-20, Fragrance, Panthenol, Polyquaternium-7, Silk amino acids, Sodium Pca, Propylene Glycol, Potassium Sorbate, Benzophenone-4, Phenowyethanol, Diazolidinyl Urea, Lactic Acid, Disodium Edta."
It looks like Dicetyldimonium Chloride is the active ingredient.
Dont know if it help and not convinced it should be used on the CG method.

My FOTKI - http://whatsnew.fotki.com/suburbanbushbabe/
Playing with my hair is a hobby. Fluffy, fine natural 4a. Goal= Healthy, beautiful hair that retains its length.
i got the rinse recipe from anita grant's site. the first recipe i made this week gave me shocking results.
i've only used it once. i'll want to use it as my only post-shampoo hair rinse for the next 2 weeks to make sure i get consistent results. if so, i may have found a totally natural replacement for creamy detangling conditioners. and the ingredients cost mere change (can't beat that in this economy), and there's absolutely no guilt about what i rinse down the drain (i'm most concerned about the environmental footprint i'm leaving.).
keep in mind that even though these natural ingredients aid in detangling, it's not the same as the commercial creamy and emolient ingredients that will allow you to put a denman through your hair. i wouldn't put a denman or a comb near my hair with this natural rinse, as the slip factor isn't as slippery and slick as its counterparts. i may have to buy a long-tined metal pick as my new detangling instrument in this new process.
the big test will be how well this rinse can rid my hair of my bimonthly henna treatment. we'll see!
i'll come back later with a complete review to let you know how this works on my hair.
