Crispy Hair?

If 4a/b hair is crispy is that a sign of the hair not being moisturized or is it a sign that the hair needs to be cut?

It depends. For me, all over crispiness is a signal to clarify/deep condition (buildup). After that, if the ends are the only thing crispy and tangly, I would say a trim is needed.

Also, I noticed after using a conditioner with cyclopentiloxane (sp), my hair was moisturized but had a weird feeling. Then it was unusually crispy for weeks afterward (especially the ends). I read here that the hard core cone above does not affect 4A hair much, but I have experienced a different effect. Could that be a factor?

Thanks J! I'll check out all my conditioners and see if they have the 'cone you mentioned. I haven't done a DT in a couple of weeks so I'll do one this week.
