CG Before and After - PICTURES!

PwniePwnie Posts: 29Registered Users
I've been lurking around here for a lo-o-o-ong time without posting much, although meaning to make a huge "hair porn" post to show what a difference switching to no-poo has made for me.

Here's something to start off with: a GREAT (and entirely unplanned) pair of before and after pictures.

More information to follow, but for now - enjoy!

Note: Both pictures wash-and-wear with no products.

You have beautiful hair...and what an awesome colour! I can't believe you don't need to use any products. I didn't think that was possible! You're so lucky!

How long have you been CG?
And what conditioners/routine do you do?

your hair looks great no-poo... I wish I could say that I've had good results but I have not. Can you describe what you are doing (i.e. cowash, sulfate-free shampoo)?

curi, how long have you been doing CG for? It's been about 6 weeks for me, and I haven't had great results either.

Thanks for all the positive responses, and apologies for the late reply!

My routine is super simple: ACV rinse followed with Almond & Honey All-Natural Conditioner from Sally Beauty. Let it air dry, and I get great two-three-four day hair out of it!

I had a HORRIBLE time with my hair before going no-poo: I would have never believed this wash-and-go lifestyle was possible for me!

Wow, what a simple routine! Is it ok to do an acv rinse so frequently? My hair looks best after I do them, but I wasn't sure if vinegar could be bad for hair long-term.

Your curls look amazing! Good job and congrats on your results! :toothy7:

I would kill to have a no product routine! That would be awesome! Maybe I'll experiment and see what happens. I have a feeling it won't turn out so great, but it's worth a shot.

Yes, too-frequent ACV rinses can be damaging because of the acidity. When I was in school I used it once/twice a week and I think that was much better for me - now that I'm back home I use it about every two days and my dermatitis has come back tenfold, whereas it had been completely cleared up before! I think the solution is clear, I'm just addicted to the way it makes my hair feel! :p

Do you rinse the conditioner out or leave it in hun?

I cannot wait for my hair to get back to "normal"! After a few years of abuse (lifeguarding in my early 20s and too much "poo") I am getting back to curly. Everyone looks amazing, and ya'll are such a good support group. Can't wait to post my own before and after pics. :) Jess
