AP flour with whole wheat? We're all out of AP, and I really want to make some pocket pies.

    Yes you can. Your pies won't taste the same but it should work fine. If you don't normally eat whole wheat flour sometimes people will with it 1/2 and 1/2 so you work your way into it but since you don't have that choice go for it.

    Whole wheat flour takes more liquid than white flour. It also needs a longer kneading time to get it stretchy, but at the same time you have to knead more carefully. The bran from the grains (the shell around the grains which makes the flour darker than white flour) cuts through the bonds if you knead too hard, so it's a balance.
    The pews never miss a sermon but that doesn't get them one step closer to Heaven.

    But at least the pews never attend yoga!
