Soo... I henna'd my hair

:D:D:D:D

Ended up using the whole 200g of Jamila that I mixed. Used tap water, a few squirts of lemon juice, and some honey. My friends came over and helped me do it, but once the back was done I couldn't stand it (they don't know how to handle hair!) so I finished the job. My arms HURT.

Anyway, wrapped it in plastic wrap and a twisty-towel, let sit for 4 hours. I would have waited longer, but it was seriously leaking out the back and I had no more old, dirty towels to soak up the mess. So I hung my head over out huge kitchen sink and loosened it all up (my housekeeper helped, she used to be a hair stylist), then went to shower. My hair is drying now, and I'm not sure I really rinsed it all out thoroughly, but the hairs that came out in the shower were BEAUTIFUL. <3 I'm so so so excited to see what it looks like when it's dry.

I took a few pictures, will post them when I have an 'after' shot.

    Pics plz :D

If it is itchy or your hair feels really crispy, it may not be rinsed out. I know this is gross but if you can scratch scalp with a fingernail and get orange or especially green, it may not be rinsed out. I sometimes have to co-wash 7 or 8 times.

Wow, put pictures please! I'm really interested in henna, but I don't know - is it colouring grey hair? I don't have many, but I would like to know if I will be totally grey - I can use henna to make my hair black again? Hope, you understand me:)

    I understand you fine. :)

I am using (pretty much, long story) only henna, and getting fabulous grey coverage. However, it is red. Extremely red.

You can totally do this to get black though, by using henna and then indigo.

No itchy scalp or crispy hair (yet), but when I was scrunching in some product, the water spots on the floor were slightly orange. I co-washed like 7 times, and my scalp looks clean, but you never know. I'll wash again tomorrow.

It's looking good, gals. :D Another hour and I'll post pics, I hope.

Mystery...I had the same runny goo problem when I put honey in mine. It only ran right behind my ears though. It was uber gross. So I only left my last application on for like 4 hours. But it sure did come out a lot easier and the color was gorgeous.

    Pics ASAP, please!

Oh, yeah. You'll "bleed" orange for about a week afterward. No matter how clean your hair is, because it oxidizes, it'll bleed. At least, that's my understanding.

That's great! Thank you:) I'm so happy. Colouring my hair make them damaged and dry. Even if I used L'oreal casting creme gloss! Now I don't because I'm scared that damage, dry hair will be growing slow. But I would like to make my colour more intensive (and my hair love henna extract). yay:blob7: I can't wait to try!

I think it's just me. Fotki must hate me, because for some reason not even the pictures in my own fotki show up. I don't get it. This doesn't happen all the time, apparently just when someone does something new to their hair. haha.

Believe me, after two hours of having a hair-ignorant boy scrubbing mud into your hair, it isn't fun anymore. :laughing7:
