when you mix conditioner and honey do you use the fancy stuff or just plain supermarket honey?

I don't really think there would be a noticeable difference...I think plain supermarket honey does the trick just fine :)

Just adding that supermarket brand honey works just as good.

I haven't tried this. Is it really hard to wash out?

I've used a lot of honey, up to an equal amount of the conditioner, and it rinses out just fine.

I've never had any problems with honey rinsing out. We have bees near where I live, so we get local honey and it seems to work nicely.

Do you use the honey/condish mixture as a DT, or just a daily "helper"?

It's a humectant, right? So do we want to add or attract moisture in higher humidity, or seal it out? I'm sure this has been discussed to death, but it literally JUST got humid here in central MN, so I haven't paid attention until now. :tongue5:

    Botticellibabe,

From what i learned, in the colder months i used 50/50 honey and condish to add moisture and seal it in. Being that its summer, i haven't tried it yet. I will experiement tomorrow morning and let you know.

I've used honey as both. I added it to CO once and used it as a DT, and have also scrunched a pea-sized amount straight into damp hair. I was under the impression about moisture that some people like it and some hate it. MY hair happens to expand when it's humid, and I love it when it acts that way.:tongue5:

If it's not being left in, it's not likely to cause as much of a humecting result as products like gels with a lot of glycerin.
