This week I'm using 'Live Clean' as both co-wash and conditioner - then use CK leave-in. Next week I will be using Sauve Naturals coconut as it was on sale in Walmart this week............two weeks from now...Might have to give it some thought?>

    I'm a new Canadian member.:occasion5:

I co-wash with Suave Naturals...either tangerine, strawberry, or orchid. I love the smell of the coconut one but don't use it since I have coarse hair. I use Live Clean too, the moisturizing one...sometimes as a co-wash, occasionally as a conditioner, and sometimes as a leave-in. My favourites as a conditioner are Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose or Burt's Bees Super Shiny Grapefruit and Shea Butter.
Type 2b/2c, med/coarse, low porosity, medium density

Co-wash: Suave Naturals Tangerine, Live Clean Moisturizing, CJ Daily Fix, GTTT, Tigi MM

Conditioner: Tigi MM, Jessicurl WDT, CJ Curl Rehab, CJ Daily Smoothing, CJ H&B Deep Fix

Deep Treatment: same as rinse out

    Leave-in: KCKT or my rinseout

Styling Aids: Alberto/V05 Gel, HETT/HESMU, KCCC

Garnier Triple Nutrition (regular conditioner - NOT the dryness reversal it has mineral oil) is pretty decent and the best I've found so far. Want to try Biolage Conditioning Balm next tho! :)

I use Suave Naturals for co-wash. I was using Live Clean for rinse and leave-in, but it's not moisturizing enough for my damaged hair. I recently found Giovanni 50/50 and LOVE it. I'm also waiting for my local health food store to get his order of Aubrey Organics in.

I use Biolage Conditioning Balm and AOHR. They are both extra moisturizing. The Garnier Triple Nutrition and the Live Clean Moisturizing Conditioner just didn't measure up in my coarse, dry hair. I'd love to try the Lustrasilk OOC and Mango-Shea, but we just can't get them in Canada.

I really wanna try the Biolage conditioning balm. I think I've found the best deal at the beauty supply outlet. Where do you get yours?

I've just learned that there is a Sally's in the town next to mine, so I'm hoping they have the Lustrasilk there as I also really want to try it...and I've never been to a Sally's. Do you have one near you you might be able to get it at? Wanted to try the GVP knockoff Biolage conditioning balm from there too but when I called to ask about it they said they didn't have it. Sigh :(

I've been using different ones in different combinations for CO and rinse out. Live Clean Moisturizing and the new Argan oil one, Biolage Conditioning Balm, Giovanni 50/50, Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition, Kenra Moisturizing, Nature's Gate Jojoba, Suave Naturals coconut and strawberry, Aubrey Organics HR and GPB and Giovanni DLI. DT's are mostly homemade recipes. whew! I also want to try the Lustrasilk and others that we can't get here (very annoying). Plan on ordering Curl Junkie Curl Rehab and then....looking for another LI...No PJ in me...nope...uh, uh!

Hi Sarina. They are much the same, although I seem to have a little less halo frizz when I use the Argon oil one...it might be a little heavier with this oil. It provides as much moisture as the moisturizing one. The scent is more exotic. I quite like it. I used it to CO wash today and used G 50/50 as rinse out. Nice soft, defined, frizz free curls today. HTH :)

I get my Biolage Conditioning Balm from Trade Secret. Many salons carry it too. There is a Sally's about 2 1/2 hours drive away from me, but they don't carry the Lustrasilk or any of the Generic Value Products.

I recently got the Aura Cherry Almond Bark Conditioner and so far it seems pretty good!

Also got Biolage Conditioning Balm and it seems good and thick so far, but I am stingy on using it because it is so expensive :( so I don't think I'm using it to its best advantage

Hey there, glad to find this group of curlies!!!

I`m in Quebec and have been trying out the CG method for a couple of months now. I`m really liking how my curls are looking, I have much better hair days now!

My concern though is winter!! I`m open to any of your suggestions of what I might use to help me get thru the really cold, wintery days!!

    Take care...
    Type: 2B & C
    Wash: Live Clean Pink Fire
Co-wash: AB Moisture Milks Strawberries & Creme
Leave-in: GFSS (for now, till I finish the bottle)
Styling products: Biotera: curl creme & styling gel, Herbal Essences: TT & SMU Gel
Deep Treatment: LOOC (not sure if I like it yet)

Tried: spritz with water for 2nd & 3rd day hair, SS method (didn`t really work for me) Icequeen: works well for me..Yeah!
Want to try: different DT, spritz and condish, and just about anything that curly girls suggest!!

My hair is EXTREMELY picky with conditioner. It wants more moisture then anything can give haha. So far the conditioners I have liked the best are Biolage Conditioning Balm and Aura Cherry Almond Bark Conditioner.

Sarina, my hair is also in need of more moisture all of the time. For me, the best two conditioners readily available on the West Coast are the Biolage Conditioning Balm, and Aubrey's Honeysuckle Rose. I have yet to find anything that's CG, and has no protein that works any better, but I continue looking.

Actually, I recently found Lustrasilk Shea and Mango in Ottawa. It is at the Grace on Bank St. (Caribbean grocery downstairs, huge beauty supply space upstairs).

If I can find it here, it must be available there somewhere in MTL, Van or TO. Not sure if they had the olive oil one, because I wasn't looking for it, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Thanks for posting that. I live on Vancouver Island and the one Sally's here doesn't have it. I tried the Vancouver stores too. However, I did find a solution. I ordered in from Sally's on line, had it sent to a friend in California, and she's taking it to another friend who will drive it down to Mexico and I will pick it up when I go to Mexico later this month. What a gal's got to do to get her hair product!! lol

That will be some well-travelled Lustrasilk! At least it should last you a good long time. I've only tried mine a couple of times, so I'm still experimenting. First time as a leave-in -- really soft and curly -- next time as a DT, but I think it was too much for my hair in one week and I got over-conditioned -- terrible. Have fun with it.

For some reason when I tried AOHR it super dried out my hair. I could barely spread it and my hair felt rough instantly. Had frizz I didn't know was even possible for a couple days afterwards. Very upsetting, since there are so few protein-free super moisturizin CG conditioners available to us.

Also...I don't think any of the Sally's in Canada carry Lustrasilk. I've called a few and one of them said that the stuff they don't carry that the American Sally's carries is because it isn't approved here in Canada, either because of ingredients or because they can't get it sent here or something. But if umeshu found it at a different store - i don't know..weird!

Sarina -- the store where I found Lustrasilk in Ottawa is an ethnic beauty supply store, so you may have better luck looking in some of those. Maybe they have different suppliers or Sally's just markets differently in Canada --or else maybe I have just blown it and disclosed a secret Lustrasilk smuggling operation, which will now dry up my supply:eek:
I have yet to go to the Ottawa Sally's to check out what their selection is.

I've been trying to find a conditioner I'm happy with, with no luck so far.

A lot of people have mentioned Live Clean, how moisturising is it, and how much slip? (I need something good for detangling... which is in part why I haven't like the ones I've tried as much, but it also needs to be light because my hair gets weighed down really easily)

So far I've tried One C, curls sublime coconut, oyin honey hemp, and giovanni tttt and 50/50. I used to use Aubreys over a year ago, but it makes my scalp break out in painful bumps within hours (I'm not exaggerating) and it takes weeks for it to go back to normal after I've stopped using it. I'm not sure which ingredient does it, but I'm thinking maybe the preservative, since all of their products do it, even the styling products.
    TIA
