Snoods-Where to Buy? (and hair nets)

ZinniaZinnia Posts: 7,339Registered Users
Looking at Cehua's pictures go me to thinking that a snood would be great for me, only I can't find a satin snood. I found plenty of knitted ones. Any ideas on where i can i buy a satin snood?

I am also wondering if a hair net would work. Has anyone tried sleeping in a hairnet? Good results?

I usually sleep in a satin bonnet, but i think this is making my hair too tangled. Combing out lately has been a bear.

Thanks for any advice!

I just KNEW that Cehua would start a new craze for snoods  Just the name is fun!

I would be interested in the fish net ones because all satin seems like it would be too hot. Maybe Sallys has them?

I just made a thread on another website about buying snoods. I found some online for $20 but I really didn't want to buy them off the internet. I saw one online from Sally's Beauty Supply. Some people said it was more like a beanie. I want a snood like this one>> /home/leaving?target=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.snoods.com" class="Popup. Does anyone know where I can find a snood like this or do I have to buy them online?

I've found them at most ethnic beauty supply stores. I think I paid around 3 dollars for them.

I tried looking for them online, but they cost more than I'm willing to spend.
A wonderful mix of coils, curls, corkscrews, and kinks.

Curly1908, does the snood you bought from Sally's look like the snoods that are on the web site that CTH3989 posted? I looked at Sally's online, but could not find one that resembled that kind.

    Thanks![/quote]

No, they aren't fancy like those. They look more like the ones from the 1930's movie. I got a black one...and I need to get a white and a blue one. If I remember correctly, it was about $2.49.

    Try e-bay, perhaps? 8)

I don't think the ones in the ethnic beauty supply stores are satin, but there are some nice knit ones. They are great for days that you don't want to do your hair. I never thought about wearing them to bed  Has anyone had any good results with this? I mean, does it keep your hair from getting tangled and the curls pretty much in place?

It matted my curls when I did this.

It worked for me when I had a twist out. Kept my hair from getting tangled and smashed from sleeping on it. Unfortunately, it doesn't work for preserving my natural curls. My hair became a tangled, fuzzy mess. Plus, my natural hair doesn't really fit in it completely. I seriously looked like a fool when I tried to make it fit. Only fits when I've manipulated my hair(w/braids, twists, etc).

This is good to know, since i think you are my hair sister...not quite hair twin, but very close! I think I will stop the search and keep the money for something else...Thanks!

That's cute! I have a couple Lady McSnood snoods. I kind of forgot about them, though. I should bust them out again.

Africanexport wore one in a few of her YouTube videos n I've wanted one ever since. I think she had a twist out on her bangs and covered the rest.
