Arizona curly girls

I hope there are some AZ curlies on this site. I'd like to know what products you use during the hot, dry summers here in Phoenix, AZ. I been in Phoenix for 12 yrs. but this is the first summer I've been curly. I'm using Suave Coconut Cond., Redken Soft Curls Definer, and Herbal Ess. Totally Twisted. The rest of the year it has worked. But I've been having a little trouble since its been getting hotter and drier. I'm losing definition. I get some straight, rebel groups of hairs. I haven't been doing exclusively curly for too long. About a month. But my products have worked until the extreme heat started this week. Hopefully, some of you will have some good suggestions.

i am in tucson, and i feel your pain. i recently started bunning my hair, and it has made a tremendous difference. my ends aren't out, so they don't lose moisture. i have to deep condition my hair weekly. i also wear a satin scarf under my wide brim hat keep the sun off my hair.

basically, my products switched seasons from back east. what i used to do in the winters in georgia, i now do in arizona during the summers.

Yep, we may not have the humidity here, but we have other issues! Have you tried Ojon's reconstructive treatment? If so what do you think? I tried it Tues. for the first time. Love the smell! It reminds me of the 70s! Smells like incense. It made my hair really soft and seems to have helped with the frizzies too. The last couple of days the humidity has risen a bit so my hair is reacting. It's like a barometer! I'm going to have to make a trip to San Diego within the next month. I'm probably the only person in AZ who doesn't like SD. And the humidity reeks havoc with my hair. What did you use in GA for the humidity?

i haven't tried any ojon products yet. the small containers concern me because i have so much hair.

i recently figured out where the ULTA is, so i'm planning a trip this weekend. i don't have anything in particular in mind, so we'll see what i end up with...

you might be the only person who doesn't like san diego...lol. i went once in the spring and it was lovely. don't know what it's like in the dead of summer, though.

when i was back in georgia i used GF sleek and shine leave-in, fantasia IC gel, and sometimes a pomade for the extra bad days. my hair was pretty product laden. i have been staying on top of deep conditioning, so i don't have nearly as much frizz as i did when i first moved here. my hair has never known humidity below 60%, so i'm thinking it's pretty happy this summer...:-)

Sorry about not answering your last post sooner. I've been reading the thread on "3a Desert Curls", which I see you've been on as well. I find it absolutely fascinating how all these strangers can be instant friends just because we all share curly hair! It's so cool! See you in the "3a" section!
