How much conditioner do you use?

in Hair Type 3
Please help! The Deva conditioner says a palmful, but I'm unsure what that means and today my hair came out sort of greasy. Can anyone tell me what that means in teaspoon language? That would be easier for me to understand!

Did your hair feel greasy or just the roots?
When I get my hair wet to wash with conditioner (Suave's Citrus Smoothie right now), I make sure my hair is nice and wet. Not hard since my hair is thin/fine. I put a good size blob (probably a tblsp. or more) on the back of my head (I'm flipped over). My hair feels dry like I have nothing on it even with that much. So I add more. Then I put another tblsp. (or more) on the underside (what would be the top of my head if I were standing) to work it in to scrub my scalp. I'm talking using a good 3, 4, tblsp. or more. And that's only to "wash" not condition! So do you think it's overconditioned or still needing moisture? I'm rotating between my VO5 Strawberries and Cream, Aussie 3-Minute Miracle and Giovanni Triple Treat conditioners to condition (sometimes mixed with honey).
I've found the same with gel .. alot of long-haired gals use way less than I do.
Maybe I need to find some protein-free conditioners and see if that's the problem. Or maybe I should use Elucence again, even though I hate the smell :? ?
I hope I didn't guano this thread  !

You are not alone. I end up having to use tons too. I usually have to use more of the cheaper stuff than the salon stuff, but that is normal for everyone I think.
You are most likely like me. You have hair that for some reason will not hold on to moisture. It is also finer so the frizz factor is greater and you need more product to control and define it.
I end up misting my hair with olive oil, or adding it to my cond, or scrunch in a little when my hair is wet before I put styling products in it.

Thanks for the input!
