Anyone use MYHoneyChild products?

I am interested in any reviews on MYHoneyChild products in general, but specifically the Lemon Pudding Hair Lotion or the Type 2 Hair Creme. All the natural ingredients look intriguing, but I would like some opinions before I place an order. Thanks! :)

Sorry, I haven't tried the Lemon Pudding Hair Lotion or the Type 2 Hair Creme, but I currently use the [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/MYHoneyChild-HoneyNutt-Conditioner-p-432.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=MYHoneyChild-HoneyNutt-Conditioner]HoneyNutt conditioner[/buylink] and love it! It makes my hair so soft. I've also tried the [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/MYHoneyChild-HoneyHair-Mask-p-349.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=myhoneychild-honey-hair-mask]Honey Hair Mask[/buylink], Molasses Hydrating Deep conditioner and the Organic Shea Butter Hair Paste. I didn't like those as much as the HoneyNutt conditioner. The [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/MYHoneyChild-HoneyHair-Mask-p-349.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=myhoneychild-honey-hair-mask]Honey Hair Mask[/buylink] did nothing for my hair, Molasses conditioner didn't get as deep as the HoneyNutt for me, and the scent of the Shea Butter Paste was horrid...so I never used it. lol I've read that the Olive You and Coconut Papaya Pastes are good.

Thanks for the reply teshon. I am really curious about the hair products from this company. Through trial and error, I have found that my hair does best when it is fully moisturized, and with no "styling" products. I finally gave up on gel - too crunchy. I like to water or conditioner wash and then apply a moisturizing leave-in of some sort. I find my 3a hair will have many ringlets, some starting at the scalp, when I just give it good moisture.

I might try the [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/MYHoneyChild-HoneyNutt-Conditioner-p-432.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=MYHoneyChild-HoneyNutt-Conditioner]Honeynutt conditioner[/buylink] that you like. I read the ingredients and it sounds fab. It seems real good for your 3c/4a hair type, do you think it would be too heavy for my 3a hair?

Ordering direct from the company website would allow me to order trial sizes but there are no returns. Curlmart does not carry the whole line but has a return policy. Hmmm. I need to do some more research. Thanks for your help.

oh, btw. Do you refrigerate your products or do you find that is not necessary?

misspam, hope you don't mind if I chime in. I haven't used the My Honey Child products--but I am interested in them, too. I have 3A hair that really likes the heavier products that seem to be more popular with the curlies on the 3C/4A boards. I like the Curl Junkie, Curls, and am just discovering Carol's Daughter (which isn't popular on those boards) They seem much more moisturizing--both conditioners and stylers. You may want to look at some of them. I was also thinking of Blended Beauty, which also seems to fit that description.

You can get samples at the following website:

    http://www.sistasplace.biz/hairtypes.php

Curl Junkies is primarily available at CurlMart in their full sizes.

No, not at all. Chime in, chime in! Thanks for the recommendations. I have only been cg since January and I love how my hair has responded. Lately, I have had a real epiphany, a beginning realization that really all my hair needs to be happy is lots of moisture. I have been surprised that my hair, like yours, can take products made for tighter curl types. I am protein sensitive, so I have to watch out for that. But it seems to really like shea butter, which I always thought was too heavy for a 3a.

Anyway, I will definitely look into the other product lines you recommend. Right now, I love [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Jessicurl-Too-Shea-Extra-Moisturizing-Conditioner-p-105.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=jessicurl-too-shea-extra-moisturizing-conditioner]Jessicurl Too Shea[/buylink] and WDT as leave ins, but some days, they don't seem moisturizing enough. If I can find a creamy styler, I will be happy! Thanks for the input. :toothy7:

I might try the [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/MYHoneyChild-HoneyNutt-Conditioner-p-432.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=MYHoneyChild-HoneyNutt-Conditioner]Honeynutt conditioner[/buylink] that you like. Nope, not if you're using JC Too Shea. [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Jessicurl-Too-Shea-Extra-Moisturizing-Conditioner-p-105.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=jessicurl-too-shea-extra-moisturizing-conditioner]Too Shea[/buylink] has a heavier oil content than the HoneyNutt conditioner. It's comparable to [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Kinky-Curly-Knot-Today-p-207.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=kinkycurly-knot-today-leaveindetangler]Knot Today[/buylink], if you've tried that one sans the oil. The consistency is thinner, but I found it more moisturizing in comparison.

I've never had to refrigerate the [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/MYHoneyChild-HoneyNutt-Conditioner-p-432.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=MYHoneyChild-HoneyNutt-Conditioner]HoneyNutt Conditioner[/buylink], but I do keep the [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/MYHoneyChild-HoneyHair-Mask-p-349.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=myhoneychild-honey-hair-mask]Honey Hair Mask[/buylink] refrigerated.

Thanks everyone for all your replies, reviews and suggestions! It has been a frustrating journey, at times, searching for the perfect hair products.

For now, I placed an order of the Blended Beauty sample pack, BB1. I also ordered some samples and 2 bottles of SheaMoisture Leave-in from sistasplace.biz. (Thanks kathymack for the link!) I will go ahead and order the type 2 hair creme from MYHoneyChild later today.

Now, I sit and wait for my goodies to arrive. I will report back testing results in a couple of weeks. :)

I love the MHC products! The only problem I have is anything with honey fades my color which really stinks, because my hair really loves her products! Right now I am using the shea scalp cleanser for my poo. It cleans without drying your hair. I love it. I have been surfing her site trying to find products I can use that don't contain honey or protein. I see she has a few products that have soy protein. Does anyone have any experience with soy protein? Is it as bad as wheat protein? My hair HATES wheat protein!!! Silk protein doesn't seem too bad as long as it is not at the top of the ingredient list.
    Mostly 3A/Some 3B Thick/Dry/Colored/SL
Loving natural products. Some of my favorites are:
MHC Scalp Cleanser, Donna Marie Miracurl Gelly, Robert Craig Conditionerloveshower.gif

empressri - Thanks for the positive feedback on MHC hair creme. Ordered mine today and can't wait to try it. Will definitely post a review of the BB and MHC after they arrive.

scarriecarrie - Yay! Another positive review of MHC. Honey isn't an issue for me as I don't color my hair, and like you, my hair hates wheat protein. I'm thinking soy and silk are possibly weaker proteins as they don't seem to bother me if they are farther down on the list.

    Thanks again ladies.:)

At first I really liked the honeynutt stuff, now I'm on my second bottle of the cleanser and I'm not so sure about it now, it does make my hair feel clean but the smell isn't as nice as I thought it was.

the banana creme stuff, I loved the conditioner but I'm not sure it's worth $15 plus international shipping. I may buy it again, but it's not a staple. the scalp cleanser was crap, it looked like watery cottage cheese and it didn't foam up at all I had a hard time believing my hair was clean after using it.

the [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/MYHoneyChild-HoneyHair-Mask-p-349.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=myhoneychild-honey-hair-mask]honey hair mask[/buylink] on the other hand I love it, at first opening it and seeing how thin it was I was sure the tub would last all of 2 applications but I was wrong. This is the only thing I'd repurchase for sure

    more reviews!!

so the type 2 creme is nice but too light for my hair, but i knew it would be anyway, but i had a sample so it's okay.

the [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/MYHoneyChild-HoneyHair-Mask-p-349.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=myhoneychild-honey-hair-mask]honey hair mask[/buylink], thought it was very light BUT once i left it on for half hour or so and rinsed it out, my hair felt VERY soft! i think i'll get a couple more uses out of my eight ounce jar.

i bought the honeynutt condish, haven't tried it yet though.

OH i used the lemon hair pudding on dry hair though and i did like it! will try on wet hair too.

Hey girl! I have been experimenting more with the Type 2 hair creme and getting good results. I can't use too much, though. I can use it over a leave-in with BRHG on top, I can also use a bit to scrunch out the crunch. It does leave my hair soft and shiny.

Tell me more about the lemon hair pudding. I will probably order that next. How do you apply to dry hair?

I got the sample pack of the Honey Nutt shampoo and conditioner, the Almond Hair Milk, and the type 3 hair cream.

And here I was just thinking that I could let go of all the products -- that all I really needed was SheaM and BRHG. I was going to cut back; just use up what I had for curl creams and frizz-fighters....well, that lasted all of a couple weeks.
I think, as misspam said, that my 3a hair does best with LOTS of moisture. I really don't need much else if I can get it moisturized enough.

I am a product junkie....it is so hard to get clean!

BRHG is Biosilk Rock Hard Gelee. Typically I use all natural products but I read so many good things about BRHG. So when I "stumbled on it" (on purpose :toothy7:) at the drug store, I picked it up. LOVE IT. It keeps my curl pattern consistent all day.

It may take a while to get the products since I just ordered them. I have some TerraNaturals coming early next week, so I am going to play around with that first.

Will post once I get some results!

i can't lie, all of her stuff doesn't work on my hair. but incidentally i tried the type 3 creme first which my hair LOVES! then i tried the caribbean line which my hair hates. so that sort of slowed my pj'ism down but the honey mask was nice.

Hi all, mind if i join in? was looking at their website after reading about them here. i've been using aubrey organics shampoo/conditioner for years, but would like to take a break from it for a while. also, haven't find all natural styling products that work on my hair, so i'm excited about this brand.

va_candi & pigreyhound, i just bought a slew of jane carter products - may i join your treatment program? :) empressri, the 3 hair creme sounds great so i think i'll try it. the carribean conditioner seemed good on the website, but i guess it may not be...

How is the lemon hair pudding? Is it more like the hair milks, or more like the hair creams? (for anyone who's tried it...)

    thanks

Super liquidy like I'm finding most of her stuff to be. I had the best results when I used it under the Type 4 Creme. I'm not really sure what to do with the lemon pudding by itself though. Hopefully, EmpressRi will chime in.
