Any ways to restore my hair?

I'm a biracial 16 year old. When I was younger I had hair like my dad's; it was straight and grew quickly. Then when I was 5 years old, I started getting buzz cuts for seven years. Recently I decided to grow out my hair like my dad's again, and now it is tighter and much curlier. Are there any products or practices I could use to restore my hair type?
