No wearing hair down - Is this a must? I don't like to always wear my hair up. It's short..so it's kinda hard to keep it up without using lots of pins.

Not too late at all - Start up is June 1

As far as those "rules" They were cribbed from a previous GOC. I guess we can take a concencus right before we start as to the rules ....

I"m in. It's nice to see how many of these things I'm already doing!! Certain things I have to modify just for myself: hair too short to wear up, occassional sweets in moderation, sometimes blowdry rollersets to speed up drying.

What is dusting? I sometimes trim 1/8 inch because ends get ragged. Maybe that's dusting.

In preparation for the challenge I just bought 2oz of rosemary oil for $8 (incl shipping) on ebay. They had 8oz for $9 plus shipping. If I go to my local health food store it's that price for 1/2 oz or an oz. Here's the link if you're interested:

I believe the Redken CAT Protein Restructerizer is GC (Blue Spray Bottle), but I'm a Kanoobie (kinda newbie), so double check!

I will join, but I can't go by some of those rules. I use a flat iron at least once a month, wear my hair down, and I don't take MSM anymore. Is this ok?

Well, I'm not "in charge", I'm just kinda rounding things up... But I think the ironing would be a deal breaker.... The MSM is totally optional.

Yeah these rules are pretty restrictive, lol.
  • rudeechickrudeechick Registered Users Posts: 6,726
Listen, chickadees, I didnt MAKE da rules. They are a regurgitation of rules from a previous GOC. You wanna change the rules, we can change em.

Rule 1. The Challenge will take place in Hawaii

Rule 2. No DHs or SOs

Rule 3. No Kids (sorry boys)

    Rule 4. No gel

    Better??

    I'm in :D

    I already take:
    -2000 mg of MSM
-5mg-10mg of Biotin (depending on if I remember to take 2)
    -Life Force Multi

I drink lots of water (lemon water...yum!), I eat well (most of the time) and I deep condition at least once a week. I wear my hair in a bun during the week and in a twist-out on the weekend. I moisturize daily and I try not to manipulate it too much. I use ZERO heat.

I will incoroporate the scalp massages and no trimming..I dust ALOT.

Guys, be very careful with the Fish Oils. Last year I had a bout of Alopecia, so I did TONS of research - not all Fish Oil supplements are safe.

    Yes, I believe CLO counts

I can abide by all of these guidelines except number 8. I just cut off my hair last month and am growing it out again, but I do not have enough to not wear down, just yet. I can, sometimes, put a hair band in, but that is about it. Besides that, I am attempting to obtain all of the other items mentioned to be prepared for June 1.

i ws recently at vitamin shoppe and a vitamin nut gave me this info which is true, some efa(essential fatty acid) supplements have metal in them, and this can lead to illness. so reead labels very carefully and make sure it states no metals on the labels!

as for the rules, i kind of like them being strict, cause if they are too vague, my behind will go astray reealy quickly with personal "mods" that will turn into setbacks. i have no plans to put direct heat on my hair until december, if that. i have a terror of losing the curl pattern i worked so hard to grow out during my transition!
