Co-wash hot oil?

If you do a hot-oil treatment using -

2 Tablespoons of olive oil
1 Tablespoon of Honey

Can you co-wash it out, or would it be mandatory to shampoo it out?

It would depend on how dry your hair was and how well the DT takes.

Personally, I would just CO wash. I know I did an oil rinse once and just CO washed afterward and it worked well, but it was the dead of winter and my hair was starving for moisture.

I never used honey, so I dunno about that. But I do put olive oil in my hair quite frequently and simply co-wash it out, it works fine.

Apologies for my ignorance, but what exactly is an oil rinse? I've heard it mentioned several times on this site and I want to try it.

My hair gets extremely dry so I'm willing to try almost anything to give it some added moisture.

I have some ingredients to also put in a hot oil treatment.

    1/4 ounce apricot kernel oil
    1/4 ounce olive oil
1 drop ylang ylang (optional...can add other oil since ylang ylang can be irritating)
