Raking or Scrunching?

I normally scrunch product into my hair, but raking is suggested. So this morning, I raked. Huge, huge mistake. It pulled out the curl, and I had to rescruch with brought some of the curl back, but they are stringy, non-clumped curls and waves. BLAH!

Anyone else not able to scrunch?

I do both. I usually rake my products in, then scrunch. For me, it depends on the product I'm using that day as to how wavy or curly it will be regardless of if I scrunch or not :? .

I tend to scrunch. Raking busts up my curls and I need all the curling boost I can get!! :)
2b/3a, primarily use Jessicurl and DevaCurl products, Curls Hair Tea conditioner and various gels. I'm modified CG-ish since 5/04.

Every time I rake my hair just lays against my head and is more straight. I think since 2B waves are more delicate, it's better to scrunch. I get the best results when I take dry with a MF towel to get some water out, scrunch in product, scrunch again with a MF towel, and apply a little more product if needed.
