As some of you might know...this is the salon of the the now NC famous Yodit (pronounced yo-deet). Yodit just had a baby girl about 2 weeks she is now on maturnity leave. I was in DIRE need of a I let one of the other ladies in the shop trim my hair and flat iron it.

Ladies...if you are in the DC metro area and you have curly hair (i've seen ladies from a 1 to the tightest 4..and I'm a 4a) then you HAVE to go to this salon!

Hiwot (pronounces Hew-wit) is taking all of Yodit's clients while she is out with the little one. She did a FANTASTIC job on my hair! She listened to what I wanted done...what my hair goals were...and she made sure to talk to me while she was triming. I basicly needed about 1/8-1/2 inch off to cut down on the tangling and she took off the PERFECT amount!

The ladies that work in this salon are all Ethopian...but the clients are all nationalities (white black purple...u get the idea!). Theses ladies have some of the most BEAUTIFUL naturally curly hair (some straighten..but a few don't) and they really know how to handle curly hair.

Finally....the prices are PERFECT. I got a trim/shape-up and a blowdry and flat iron for $65 ($80 with tip). You can't beat that here in DC!

Yay. My beloved Yodit. I've gone to her for at least 5 years. I followed her to Salon Revive. It's just the cutest and chicest little spot. If you have a head of hair, she and her staff can hook you up.

Bumping to promote Salon Revive for knowing how to cut natural hair. Hiwot has cut my hair twice now, and I will never go anywhere else as long as she's around. She also got me hooked on my HG routine: Aveda Confixor and Paul Mitchell Pommade combed through wet curls. I let dry in a bun, and it works in DC summer humidity.
